2 hours for me

Keith's not kidding about the length of the Colorado ballot this year - huge! In my tiny county out in the boonies, more than 3/4 of the voters elected to use mail-in or early ballots. I filled mine out at home, saved the 59 cents postage, and dropped it off with the county clerk when I was in town last week - total time filing maybe 10 seconds, no line at all. Definately the way to go!

My thanks and appreciatation to all of you who are waiting in long lines and wading through long ballots to vote. It's nice to see so many people participating.

Voted Saturday so I wouldn't have to worry about it during the week. It took about 2 hours total. Not too bad. I was happy to see that a mistake I made (a small black dot in addition to the normal totally filled in oval) was caught by the optical reader and I had to redo my ballot.

I went to vote at around noon. The whole thing (getting there, finding out I was at the wrong polling station, getting to the correct polling station, voting) took about 30 minutes. I guess people really wanted to vote as a taxi minivan rear-ended a pickup truck at a T-intersection near the polling stations.

I voted for prez, senator, a couple of local seats (mostly without challengers), and three questions: Whether or not to repeal the income tax, give leniency for anyone found with less than an ounce of pot, and ban dog racing.

I did my civic duty this morning at about 8:30. It was my first presidential election. I was soo excited. took about 7 minutes total, but it was great.

Prez, Local stuff, board of education for University of Michigan (why do I care?), and 2 props.

1. legalize medicinal marijuana

2. allow stem cell research

We took about 40 min this morning.

Thanks to the UAW, I have the day off, and my wife took it with me. And we went downtown to stroll around, enjoying the wonderful weather we've had in November.

Got me thinking when walking by a TV with news.... Man, I love this country. Every 2 years, we have a partial "revolution" where we take part of our Federal Government, and give us a chance to adjust what we think we should do.

All without any real violence (yea, taking signs is bad, but you know what I mean).

No matter how I agree or disagree with you, you are all still virtual friends of mine- time to get back to cars....

yep, i voted yes on both. i don't know yet if the legal weed passed, but if so, i'm going to find out how to become a legal grower. i'm sure it'll cost more than street weed, so I should be able to make some decent coin to replace my engineering income when the auto industry completes the tanking.

I know a place where they grow it, not something that can be done in one's basement/backyard/kitchen/etc. Major security issues, to say the least.

Don't get your hopes up. Even if by some miracle Maine approves medical marijuana, the DEA has shown they don't give two E36 M3s if the state "legalized" it or not. If you ain't got a Marijuana Stamp, you go to jail.

im not sure what one has to do with the other. if you don't have a "legal" prescription, then you can't have weed. medical marijuana does not equal legalized pot

Possession of any kind is a federal crime, no matter what. That was my point, that's all. It doesn't matter if Maine legalizes it for medicinal use, it will still be illegal.
