I'll be curious how this shakes out.

Wal-Mart doesn't mess around and they absolutely have more and better lawyers than Tesla.

From car fires to panel fires.

This sure won't help their image.

My first thought exactly. I don't think WalMart is in the business of going up against large public companies unless they're sure of a win.

And Telsa hired the subs.

Sounds like a ton of subcontractor problems and an indifferent general contractor (Tesla). It's certainly not good news.

So, someone sold WALMART a cheap, low quality product that broke quickly?

Oh, that Elon, he sure knows how to play the long game prank!

Maybe the panels came in boxes labeled "This is not a solar panel."

also, coming soon to a WalMart near you:   Tesla automobile sales and service, because the Waltons will crush Elon if that is what they choose to do.

Ohh ohh.. I can play.

You mean like Walmart telling everyone in the world they're switching to being majority renewable energy or telling everyone they are the united state's largest buyer of organic food and prodcuts?  or.. ... ..

And if he were smart, he'd initiate a class action suit agaist Walmart for the same right now.

I wonder how many other  SolarCity  installs have had these problems ? or other companies....

The whole solar industry  seems to have a lot of  "salesman"  that will tell you anything to make a sale  ,

Elon is probably saying  "I have enough problems , I don't need this"

doesn't change a thing.  One company has a bottom line the other doesn't.  Preaching green credentials is the price of business nowadays - basic survival.

Not a chance this is defendable. There will be a settlement of some kind in the near future.

Tesla won't want the bad press and Walmart will be happy with getting the panels off their roofs and being let out of whatever contract they have with SolarCity to get them installed.
