I'm looking for a Condo or house to rent for about a week. Two adults and six young kids. Early September time frame.
What ya got? Or tips on finding the best value.

I used the company "Prickett Properties" for renting a place during college spring break down in Gulf Shores. Not sure how much of a help that could be for you though.

Are you set on Gulf Shores? I don’t have any contacts there, but I’m pretty sure the house down the street is a vacation rental & is a block(and not a city block...)from the beach here in Biloxi.
My brother has a rental in gulf shores called horn’s hideaway. If it is what you are looking for I can put you in touch and eliminate the cut the rental companies take.
In reply to Pete Gossett :
I hadn't considered Biloxi. Mostly because Gulf shores is closer.
We're looking for something beach front, it makes it easier with the little ones, but I'm all ears for a deal.

Thanks for the recommendation. That's a really nice place. We like it a lot, but it's too far above our budget.
In reply to Indy-Guy :
This is essentially “beach-front” for Biloxi. Unlike Gulf Shores where large hotels & condos line the beach side of the street, blocking most of the view, almost all of the beach here is county-owned & unobstructed. There’s quite a bit more to do here too. I’m not sure it’s actually any further from Indy to Biloxi than it is to Gulf Shores - we’re less than an hour straight west of Mobile & it’s all interstate, unlike from Mobile to GS.
It's 3.5 hours up to South Haven, Michigan from Indy. Just sayin... It's a really nice beach, and fresh water too. When you're there this time of year, it's hard to tell a difference between it and the Gulf.
I've made the drive to Gulf Shores with 4 kids under 4 (nieces/nephews). It's not awful, but it's not a great time with a herd of yung'uns either. Next time we'll take the closer option.
In reply to STM317 :
We've considered that option (lake Michigan) in the past, but I've got my heart set on the salt water of the Gulf for this vacation. Plus, there are more rental options (and cheaper) down south. I've gotta be under $1500 (with all taxes & fees) for a week's stay. A quick search of South Haven on VRBO, lists only one option available for our dates in that price range.
