We just moved from Houston to Williams Bay, Wisconsin. My wife's car is acting up - from her description it sounds like the alternator is not charging - it's probably pissed that we moved up here into the frozen tundra.
Anyway, is there anyone in the area that can provide warm shop space for a couple hours while I change out the alternator?
Thanks!

No help, as dad sold his place in Fontana recently, but maybe try heading to Novak's in Fontana and grab a bite. If Pete is bartending, ask him if he knows of anything.

I'm a bit far from that neck of Wisconsin woods, but there always is the Road Assist List:

Looks like Oldtin might be the closest in IL
I saw the assist list but if her alternator is going out I will never make it to Illinois or Milwaukee. I might just have to tough it out in the cold.

And whom's name shall I drop on Bartender Pete? :)

His cousin Mike--but its no go on it--I just checked, he's out of town.
Don't know where you are exactly, but there is a diy garage in North Western Milwaukee. Never been there but I used to drive past it all the time.
I've never lived 'up north' but this might be your last rust free fastener experience.

I've got a friend up in williams bay, but I don't think she'd be much help. I used to go up there several times a year, but then gas went up in cost and my income became more fixed so that stopped. If you could make it down to deerfield IL, I have space to work on it.
I have warm shop in Brookfield, if you could make it that far - near Milwaukee.
I think I'd knock on neighbors' doors and ask before tackling any repair work in single digit temps. Good luck!

...and some tarps can make it bearable. Just don't suffocate or burn yourself down.
