The thunder is getting much louder and is almost constant. The rain was coming down in buckets but as of a moment ago it was going up!!!!. Quick look at the weather and we have a tornado watch in effect. I am starting to see the flashes of lightning. Like flashbulbs going off at a distance. This is going to be a fun next hour or so till this blows by.

Am in Ayer st the nerscca autocross. It has only rained moderately, nothing sustained for more than a few minutes since 9am, although we did have the biggest black swirly cloud I've ever seen overhead for a few minutes around 2:30. I thought for sure it was going turn into a tornado. We're in a lightning break here at the moment, I was 2 cars away from getting my last run in.

Still quiet in RI--got really windy, but that's about it so far.
I have company over (inlaws [and everyone is pre-occupied playing cards], thus why I can be online) and I'm supposed to throw steaks on the grill. Hoping the rain doesn't ruin that.

SoFla- A bit of thunder in the distance but clear skies. 98 FREAKIN DEGREES outside, himidity at 80%. AC maxed out. Gonna grill some steaks anyway. They will be marinated in my sweat.
94 degrees and threatening rain all day in Southern New Jersey
We got some torrential rains and high winds in South Western CT around 3PM. Lost power due to a branch taking out our power lines...
Fun is...
My parents are on a boat in the middle of New York state. I hope they didn't get that weather. Mom hates thunder storms while on the boat.
It was about 90 and very steamy at the bike race in Philly today. There was a tornado watch for all of eastern PA, Jersey and Delaware but nothing ever came of it.
Same down here in MD with the tornado warning but nothing that i know of came from it just some rain at about 11am. Its been extremely muggy here the past week and had thunder storms for all last week.
That came through this area last night.
It missed me and everyone I know.

A friend that developed the downlinked nexrad radar for aviation use has been touting a new technology that predicts the radar returns up to 36 hours in advance. I look at it almost daily. It is amazingly accurate. I have used it to plot my route of flight a day before a trip and not had to deviate from my flight planned course to avoid thunderstorms. The site is www.nssl.noaa.gov/wrf/

Average summer day in Georgia.
here in South Jersey, if you do not like the weather.. wait 5 minutes.
between the ocean, the Deleware bay, all the swamps, and then the heat from the built up areas.. we get some VERY funky weather with little warning
I'm just south of Boston, and we missed all the crazy stuff. I was in Quincy (in Squantum, right across from Boston) when it all went down yesterday. It was really cool watching the storms roll in.
