WeatherTech?

Ordered the wife some front mats for hte Rio. Ordered the specific fit ones for the car. Christmas day comes, and htey aren't even close. I've now emailed them twice and have not gotten a response.

Anyone else had an issue with them like this?

Unusual, they are usually on it! Give them a call I think their call center is by Joliet so should get someone speaking English as a bonus.

I sent back some for my Chev Astro. They admitted that they were not the laser measured, exact fit ones and if there were enough demand they might make exact fit ones. I'll bet the Rio doesn't have enough demand to warrant making the exact fit ones.

This. Probably. They're the best made mats I've ever owned, besides the factory unobtanium OEM rubber mats that Jeep used to make.

We got my grandma Husky Liners for Christmas. I was originally going to go with Weather Tech but they don't make an "exact fit" for her '02 Buick Century.

The Husky Classic Style we got her were almost an exact fit, 99%. They are maybe 3/4" too wide on the back and bow out slightly from the seat riser. She's so short, and has the seat pulled up so far that you'd never know. Maybe after a few hot summer days they'll fit better.

So if Weather Tech doesn't work out check Husky Liner.

Sams Club sells a set of univeral rubber mats for $19.99
In 2006, I bought a set for my wife. She now has them in her 3rd car since then and they have been great for all the applications. They are just now showing some wear on the driver's side.

These things. There's a set under the carport at home that's been in a car of ours since about '01, and another set in my Ranger that might be a couple years newer. Every now and then they get gummed up with something, but a clip to the wall at the pay-and-spray wash makes them look new again. Heavy rubber, decent lip around the edge, will hold a lot of fluid before spilling over. Highly recommended.

I will not place universal mats in our cars. I've had too many bad experiences with them crawling up under the pedals at the worst possible time.

Kia doesn't make them for the Rio, just the Forte/Optima/SUV's. The weathertechs were supposed to be exact fit. That's why I bought them. These weren't even close!

Did you get a hold of anyone? If they aren't even close to fitting, I wonder if they sent you the wrong ones all together.

That's pretty much what I thought as well. They look more like the mats in my Forte, but they're still missing the factory hook holes. I think they're just flat out wrong.

And no, still no word. Still at work and short handed so I will have to either call them tonight or on Monday.

I am hoping that you haven't heard yet because the company values it's employees and has given them time off at Christmas. That would be consistent with the other values espoused such as being made in North America

Just got an email back. They're now saying they're not actually made to size, but instead they send out something "close". Well, "close" is not what I ordered.

Wouldn't that be false advertising or is there some fine print somewhere?

First time w/ Husky Liners was in my '12 Sierra, they work very well w/ snow, mud and the every day stuff too, I'm pleased. Also, first time w/ WeatherTechs in the S197, fits perfect, they are awesome!!, I'll probably stick w/ them on the next vehicle(s) from this experience.

Hard to believe they botched the Rio fit. Hope there's a reasonable explanation and it gets sorted out for you.

nope. Return for a refund, that's the only option I got. That doesn't get my wife her christmas gift now does it?

Here's the "fine print"

All-Weather Floor Mats were intended to give the best possible protection for your vehicle floor. Many of our front mat applications are vehicle specific, while others are determined to be the best possible fit for the application from our many shapes and sizes.

But they don't tell you what vehicles are direct fit and what aren't. Pretty E36 M3ty IMO. Nothing like spending $65 for a pair of front mats that don't fit.

Try www.autoanything.com ; they sell a 'Lloyds' brand...I got some for my Focus and they were 100% tailored for the car.

I had WeatherTech liners in several of my trucks. They used to be made of fiberglass and fit perfectly. When I got the Transit Connect I ordered a set for it. They were supposed to be the laser measured ones.

They showed up made out of some flimsy rubber stuff that didn't have provisions to hook them over the factory hooks. Plus they did not fit in any way. After several attempts to rectify the situation I gave up, threw them in the trash and put the factory mats back in.

I have a Weathertech for the rear cargo hatch of the Rondo and it fits perfectly. Don't know if they make one for the 2014 Kia Rondo though. I would hope so, look at all that room back there!

They don't make floor mats for one of their own vehicles? That seems weird.

What praytell is a rondo? Does a picture exist with mats fitted?

New F350 weathertech's fit fantastic.......perhaps they are just telling you to buy a more common vehicle.
