Now, as to why it was finally released after fighting the release for so long, certain states were just about to pass laws requiring presidential candidates to present one. He had no choice if he wants to run in '12.
Place of birth is a non-issue. Citizenship at birth is the issue. I'm not sure of his mothers citizenship (because I don't really argue this topic often, nor do I care about it.) An old friend of mine was born in China as a US citizen. Maybe I'm reading into it too much, Hess. I'm not dogging you. Just looking to clarify.

Yeah - connecting that many dots is akin to the Wookie Defense IMO. At first I thought the birthers were tards and that he should release the long form just to shut them up. Then when he didn't I thought - well that's weird - why won't he? My theory was that it listed muslim and that would freak out a different set of tards. After he did release it, I now wonder again why not sooner. Regardless, I REALLY hope this can go away. He was right - we've got more important E36 M3 to deal with.
I agree completely with this statement.

Just sayin'. They're so close to Russia up there. Anything could have happened. I'm not saying she's Russian. I just don't understand why I haven't seen her birth certificate. Why wait this long if it's so easy to prove?

Because she's white. Duh.

I find something far more interesting on the Certification Mr. Obama produced than whether or not it defines his citizenship...
It defines his mother's race as "Caucasion", and his father's race as "African".
Since when is "African" a race?? I thought it was a continent.
Two of my cousins are white Kenyans. Logically, a Nairobi birth certificate should make them more "African-American" than someone born and raised in Chicago whose ancestors came to America three hundred years ago, but I don't think they ever tried to argue that on a college application...
It seems racial identifiers are one of those things you just can't win at. Pick a place identifier, like "African" - or for that matter, "Caucasian" - and you've got the problem that some other groups of people live there. Go with a color and that opens up all sorts of complaints, none the least that the colors usually aren't all that accurate.
I wish we could just abolish the whole idea that there are separate, distinct races. Sure, that idea may be a bit pie in the sky, but it mostly seems to have brought humanity nothing but trouble and one of the more arbitrary things to fight over.

You know, scientifically, there is only one human race and we are all part of it. Humans have not lived in isolation long enough for actual separate races to show themselves.

Not to knit-pick, but "America" isn't a country either. We are from the United States of America, and technically anyone who lives in north or south america is "American".

And she's not President of the United States. I can't figure out why people see her as such a threat when she doesn't have any power to change anything.
I'm still stuck wondering how people tell these people apart. I hear names like "Sarah" and "Obama" and "Boehner" but when I look at pictures of them they all look the same.
This is all I see when one of 'them' speaks.

Uh, I was just kiddin'. I don't really care that she was born in Russia.

Now I know you know you don't have to be president to change things. Even down to the scale of city politics, I've seen some real small people do some real big things in politics at a time they were not in that business (as much as can be said.)

Annoying people to the point of seppuku.
That's kind of a flimsy answer. She's a person with opinions and viewpoints, like many, many others, and you don't have to listen to her. Why does she and her family get attacked with so much more hatred? As far as I can tell, she's never hurt anyone in any way, but her critics attack her like she's Jesus.

She shoots things from helicopters. That's practically an air force in my book!

If you say so. I didn't think anyone would honestly think that I thought Sarah Palin was from Russia. Guess I overestimated the room.
That's why it's called trolling.
Okay, really. Sorry if I offended anyone. I thought it would be obvious it was a joke. If I thought anyone would take it seriously I wouldn't have posted it. Didn't mean to be "trolling" or anything else. Just thought it was funny.
I don't think Sarah Palin is from Russia. Man, if you had told me this morning that I'd write those words somewhere I would have been puzzled.

Not to nit-pick your nit-pick...yes I am...
"America" is a shorthand (in English) for "United States of America". "The Americas" are a reference to North and South America.
However, I didn't say "America" was my nationality. I said "American" is my nationality, which is a correct reference to a citizen of the United States.
We don't have a word in English for "United Statesians". Such a word exists in Spanish- "Estadounidense".
African is still neither a country nor a race.

I don't agree with your comment. I would never, ever, EVER say I am "American" because I live in North America. I am Canadian. I am just as offended to be labelled an "American" as you would be being labelled a "Canadian."
But, being Canadian, I would do so politely. (grin)

Not to mention that NOBODY called your country "America" before 9/11. It was always "the U.S.", or "the States", or "the USA". It still is in a lot of the world for that matter.
