On my 95 Silverado rear quarter windows,  theres a plastic/rubber (flexible plastic? Hard rubber?) Moulding attached to the edge of the glass the whole way around the glass. Whatever gm used to adhere the mouldings to the glass has failed on the leading edge of both sides. I tried testors glue when i had them on the bench, but that didn't work.

They rattle loudly at 60mph and above. where 90% of my driving is.

What adhesive do i use to reattach them? It is about 1/8 inch butt joint to temper glass thats 18 inches long.

I've used that stuffed in the distant past. I don't remember much about working with it. It was on motor mounts. I've also used it to glue in windshield. Does it Harden or remain gooey? And is it available in smaller than a tube of caulk size?

Black "Super Weather Strip Adhesive" may work well here. Also a 3M product

I'm pretty sure I've seen it in the toothpaste style tubes recently.

I used this adhesive on the rears of my gmt800 Silverado before. It worked well, but the adhesive is pretty thin and runny so a pain in the butt to work with. It held up fine for the next 6 months that I owned the truck.

Urethane is what most windows are installed with. It sticks very well and stays flexible. You might also try something like MasterSeal NP1.

I like the tube of general purpose stuff at Home Depot (ill get the name after work) for car stuff.  Its like contact cement, put it evenly on both sides, wait, then stick em together. I like it because you can still remove it later without destroying your stuff

25 year old rubber gaskets may not be saved, buy a new gasket and start over.

$15 at LMC Truck.

Part #2 is the actual rubber weatherstripping. However,  the  part im working with is not actually serviced independently,  as gm made it bonded to the glass (part #1, $2xx each). S . If i could id hit the easy button,  but not at that money

Willg80: sounds like you did exactly what im doing to my older truck. Ill give your stuf a try first, then hit the window weld if it doesn't work....
