Paolo Conte: Sparring Partner
Great vintage European jazz. Is he French or is he Italian? Who knows. But good music regardless.
It's been said that Paolo Conte was Europe's answer to America's Tom Waites. I disagree. Tom was a great performer in the seventies, and wrote some great songs, but Paolo has been a much smoother and consistent professional performer over his entire career ... the long haul. Compare this to something recent by Tom Waites. He's a wreck.

Funny as hell, but some may find it offensive. I am not trolling!!!

I rode bmx with the drummer/band leader Luke in the 80's and still hang out with him now
"Ain't no sunshine" just came on my Pandora station. It's my Jack Johnson station.
I want to think that Jack is the kind of dude who would be majorly humbled at having been compared to Bill Withers.
Bill's pretty much my favorite voice ever.
The new, local, Americana radio station - 100.9 The Creek - The Sound and Soul of Macon, GA.
These guys are amazing - it's like they raided my record collection. Johnny cash, Steve Earl, James McMurtry, Otis Redding, Dr. John, Bill Withers, Son Volt (right now), John Prine, the Allman Brothers of course, .... It's this crazy mix of country, soul, funk, and modern american that somehow captures the groove and music history of my hometown. It's also the only truly local station we've had in 20+ years. I forgot how cool real DJs are.
If you like any of this music, you should give it a listen at thecreekfm.com

I'll have to check out that station. Sounds like it's right up my alley.
If you like that type of stuff, i'd recommend WXPN out of Philadelphia. xpn.org. They had a theme all this past Labor Day Weekend called Long Hots. They played nothing but songs 6 minutes and longer. They actually played Mountain Jam by the Allman Brothers last night untouched
In the car= Silversun Pickups latest album. At work= I've had My Morning Jacket, Some Metallica, Boston in the mix.
In reply to ultraclyde and 92dxman:
Great station. I just connected directly to their site (couldn't find it on IHeart) and the first thing I heard was Warren Zevon: "Lawyers, Guns, and Money." I think I'll be listening to this radio station a lot. Thank you.
