Most everything dan swano touches is gold.

Turns out they're from Huntsville, and not from somewhere in the vicinity of Tokyo as I'd initially assumed. Either way, they're awesome!
In reply to impulsive:
One of the more underrated bands of the modern era. I still think of one of their songs' chorsus every time I need to hit something with a hammer.
I also think this every time I heard the Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairies. Sadly they only aired this on TV once, then the whole fire thing happened and they never aired it again. Found it by accident just now.
The voice in my head telling me that I should have booked longer than a 48-minute connection at CLT to take my family to FL for a few days. My pilot buddy says airports on 12/26 are busier than a one-armed juggler.
Grayson Capps:
" ... a Luck Strike smokin' queen." Pretty good lyrics, and a cozy, laid-back studio. I love the slide guitar. Great song and great talent. Reminds me a lot of an old Townes Van Zandt recording session.

Object lesson in hammering.

Seriously. The buildup is worth it.

That is fantastic! Brian Johnson would be proud.
And then, of course, there's this version:

Paul Cardall is one of my favorite "new age" pianists. Due to health issues, he doesn't stray to far from his hometown of Salt Lake City. I really like his work.

One of my first dates with Annie back in the early eighties was at the old iconic Warwick Musical Theater in RI (now the site of a Lowes ). This guy opened for the Marshall Tucker Band. Well, Dickey and his band was absolutely fantastic as an opener. It was shortly after he'd split with Greg Allman. In the end, the Marshall Tucker Band with the late, great Toy Caldwell was pretty much anti-climatic. Good, but not nearly as good as Dickey and his guys.
I think this is probably my favorite Marshall Tucker song. We had front row seating for the concert at the Warwick Musical Theater (trying to impress Annie on an early date... and 35 or so years later apparently it worked ). Toy had a hand-written play list on the floor, and I could see it and read it upside down, so I knew when they were going to sing this one.
OK, so please indulge me for one more Marshall Tucker Band song
"I was born a wrangler and a rambler and I guess I always will"
Toy Caldwell was a great singer, song writer.
From the whats wrong with me category...
