Looks like you guys ran the poor kid off.
Good work.
I'm completely for shaming and embarassing people to get them up to some standard of communication/interaction/etc.
When did it become cool/acceptable/OK to be a dumba$$
I don't understand why the question is being asked (the original post question) when you "clearly" state in the other post:
"my bestfriends dad that is one of the best mechanics / auto body people around here and said 4 hours on the radiator supports and the rest is new body poarts"
Seriously, take it to a body shop with a frame machine. There is no other way to realistically get a car like this back on the road. That is to say...it could happen doing it yourself at home, but it won't.

While I'm not sure how to completely answer that question (there's probably a thesis being written on it in a fine educational institution somewhere)...I'm pretty darn sure that mTV had something to do with it. Yep...pretty sure that's a factor.

Hmmm sounds like the perfect paper for a Sociology major. Good slant on the mtv factor, I'm positive Beavis and Butthead, Jackass and all of their "reality" BS had a factor. Well wait no I'm sure reality TV in general would have an effect. Oh and don't forget texting.
Oh also the whole idea of an S14 with a Skyline power plant and drive train could be a beautiful thing. I've ridden in on that had an RB swap though was still a RWD rig, loads of fun.
Wasn't there someone on here (or someone posted a link to it) that was shoving an RB into a 240Z? Bet that would be an interesting car to drive.
Well, the first thing you can do is repair it. Good luck there- sounds (and looks!) like you need to rebuild most of the front end. If you don't have the tools now, or at least access to them and a couple of patient friends/relatives, progress will be slow.
Options: Find a junkyard, find a like-year 240sx that somebody punted backwards into a tree/building/car/bridge abutment and see if you can get a good front subframe and any tweaked suspension parts, plus whatever body panels you need. Alternatively, get that thing to a frame shop and see what the experienced professionals there tell you to do.
We're here to help, don't let us run you off too easily. Punctuation and grammar tell us who you are, though, and if you don't feel like using them, don't be surprised if most people don't take you too seriously.
Can I ask: how old are you?

Yea there was someone on here that had a "finished" RB swap. I believe it only needed body work.

Yeah, I just did a page ago...lol

C'mon, not everyone has the same scholastic advantages and/or life experiences. Maybe Mr. Wannabeninja just didn't grasp the fourth grade punctuation stuff; hell I still can't do the times tables.
Maybe he's getting the wrong impression of the GRM mind set and depth of the knowlege here when he's getting blasted for his thumb typing rather than addressing his car problems.
Unless of course that's the Ninja Wannabe doing a wheelie with no helmet...
Nevermind.
Oh, we addressed his car problems before he even made that really stupid trade. (In case you missed it, he traded a clean, running Eclipse for a worthless wreck.) There's nothing we could do about his IQ, however.

that car will decimate all, if we invest 15 grand or more, overnight parts from Japan...
and to continue, from first post about the trade, and i quote: "im sketched out about doing cause i had horrible luck with trading stuff please help me "
ooooo, think you guys tried to help...
Don't think that quite qualifies as a S15. But I could be wrong. As for the RB into a Z, I've wanted to do that for about 10 years. About the first time I saw pictures of under the hood of a skyline.

Hahah you wont believe this but i didn't buckle it and it came off because i was going so fast in windy woods HAHA but ya and for the forth grade thing i have a rough past family problems and didn't really get along with the school progam so ya and FYI i am taking 11th and 12th grade subjects to graduate this coming year and i score about 4 years plus college level with my math skills so defiantly would appreciate it if you don't talk about that kind of stuff.
In reply to jstein77:
well for one I took the car to a local auto body shop and luckily I knew the guy from my older brother working for him for 14 years. He only charged me about 300 to straighten the whole frame. He is going to fix the fenders and possibly the hood but I only need to buy a bumper and the eclipse was a rs with 180,000 miles and ran like E36 M3 after I used it about two days I thought it was clean but it wasn't and I traded this running car that had body damage and with only about 80,000 miles on it. so really if you make a list of the pro's and con's for each car with what I can do to a 240 is cheaper than the eclipse with modding it . I would have kept the eclipse if it was a gsx or a gst. but I didn't cause i love the sport of drifting and even though I am 9/10 dirt bike rider ,do to a bad wreck i cant continue dirt biking. So instead i got into cars. I am not looking to get E36 M3 on by kids that got money from parents I work 5 days a week 5 to 12 every night and o nthe weekends 8am -4pm 5pm-12pm and help my mom pay bills till i am off too college. But either way i work for what i got and i am proud of it. I am sorry my rich father or mom didn't set up a trust fund that grew to 50,000 when i turn 18 alright. I never had a dad I had to teach everything to myself and my mom wasn't really there either and still isn't so thanks a lot for the decent post's with people that actually talked about the subject and not about my grammar i appreciate that a lot.

That victory was anything but flawless.
Mate, if you are at all serious about this thread and the forum as a whole, take a step back.
Now from a neutral standpoint, are you serious about this car, if so then do what needs to be done, do not skimp on repairs to the frame. When it is straight go about it in a logical order. Do not forget brakes and suspension.
Research drifting and how to prepare a car for the class/sport.
Do not take offense at comments made here, maybe take a class to improve your English skills. It can only improve your future in business as well as on a mature forum like this one.
It is a mature audience, even though we are certifiable gearheads, so take a few minutes, use punctuation, spell check and try to be clear.
If you can do these few things there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum, I am proud to be able to post alongside some of these people, who I can even call friends.
PS: Bling is never acceptable on this forum...eVaR.
Steve
Uh and to add to what aussiemg (Steve) just said don't be talking to the guys here like they are a bunch of trust fund babies. Most on here are damn hard workers and are far from rich. If you had any idea what this place was about you would know most of these guys build cars for less money than most guys on other sites put into their rims or stereo equipment.
Oh and most of the guys here could more than likely out drive just about anyone you know. We have guys (and gals) on this forum that participate in just about every form of motor sports there is.
That being said this is a forum and successful communication here requires you to communicate clearly and in a fashion that those on the forum can understand what you are trying to say. You say that you want to go to WYO Tech or UTI that is great but guess what? You have to be able to write and communicate even going there. You absolutely can not be successful in business at your current level of communication skills unless you want to do oil changes your entire life.
Now as for the car, as everyone has said DO NOT skimp on the frame repairs. As I mentioned before I had a 240SX myself at one point (a S13 actually) and I spent quite a bit of time with some of the drifters in the Pacific Northwest. I saw the end result of skimping on such repairs several times and one time resulted in a terrible wreck that resulted in a death. I know that you can't wait to get the car on the road but make sure it is safe first. Trust me I'm in the same boat getting my Olds up and going. I want it on the road now but I have to take my time make sure I do things right so I don't regret it later.
aussiesmg wrote: PS: Bling is never acceptable on this forum...eVaR. Steve
Like, the term "bling?" Or actual "bling" on a car? 'Cause, ermm... i may have some "bling" on a car or two of mine. Not like, shiny chrome rollerz on mah whip y0!!!
But more like "Deez hurr wheelz hav sum real JDM road rash y0!! Enkei RP01 Special Edition ya hurrrrrrrd?"
In reply to wannabeninja111:
Well, that's good that you were able to get the frame straightened for a reasonable price. I'm glad we didn't run you off completely with our (my) disparaging IQ comments.
Keep up the diligence on the repair work (and the education as well), and be sure everything is done in a safe manner. I can sympathize with your situation; it closely parallels mine when I was growing up.
I'm not rich, just a lot older than you. After all, I drive a 6 year old Sentra - how rich could I be?
