This came up on the Denver CL while looking for Datsun parts:
Custom S-10 Console
The text of the ad if/when it gets flagged:
Custom center console for an S10 Blazer (1982-1993) for sale. It has a fold-out tray and a stash pocket to hide your goodies from assorted authority figures and ne'er-do-wells. Cash only. Thanks.
It appears to be constructed with OSB scrap, and covered with household carpet. I'd say it probably effectively hides things, if only because the nasty carpet probably smells bad enough that the average police officer would not want to search anywhere near it.
The "Cash only" statement is a funny bit of accidental humor- I suppose someone buying it for the advertised purpose probably would have cash on them.
So much failure in so few words. In this case, pictures are worth a thousand words.
LOL. The tray looks very nice. Can't say much for the rest of it though.
I used to be friends of a police dog named Sky. I don't think the "stash pocket" would fool her for long. Her handler/partner would probably impound the car and confiscate it just for being stupid in a no stupid zone.
I wonder if they come up with all these great ideas while they're stoned.

How do you think they came up with "Funyuns?"

Where is this no stupid zone? I'd like to visit it one day.

It starts 25 feet in any direction around you, Wally.

Apparently you never looked. I've heard stories of people getting busted for it on the local news... or was it national...?

As the young'uns say, "Word up, Bro."
