I worked all day on Saturday, then gorged myself on Chinese buffet, and played video games well into the night.
Today, removed the driveshaft, engine bay bracketry, engine bay wiring harness, door handle mechanisms, and dashboard from the 1987 Supra for transfer over to the 90...
I got out the Power Washer, filled it with kerosene, and cranked out some hot water cleaning jet power to blow the grime off of a few Supra pieces and parts. (transmission being the main one)
Then, I moved the 87 out back of the garage under the lean-to. cleaned up the space under it (oil dry and what not). Moved the 90 where the 87 used to be, and cleaned the space that the 90 used to rest.
To get the car under the lean-to, it had to go up a bit of an incline.
a few chains later and it was attached to this awesome machine.
it took every bit that the 1.3 liter had to pull the supra up the hill, but it made it. conveniently, there was a very large puddle right where the car crested the hill, so I may have burned a bit of tire there.
Final result
I could have used my dad's pickup, but I wanted to prove that the Aspire had what it took to do it. plus it made my little brother laugh.
Friday, had a header installed. Then the car broke down.
Saturday. Tried to fix the car.
Sunday. Realized the problem was a blown fuse. Live and learn...
What did I do my weekend? Worked night shift, got home tore into SVT clutch (up 24 hrs whoo!). 3 days later (I wasnt hurrying) its all together, try to start, no starter engagement. after some trouble shooting realize pop put a metal shim on wrong side of flywheel, moving it -just- too far away for the starter to grab, then went back to work.
What did I accomplish on my weekend you ask?
Absolutely nothing.
(got pissed, its at local shop now...)
This was actually a Chinese food-free weekend, which now that I think about it troubles me. Weekend's major accomplishments: visited Brumos Porsche, made magazines, bought a new pair of Vans, took a nap, bought groceries, went for a bike ride, mowed the lawn and pulled a ton invasive vines from our yard. I hate those vines.
Last coat of mud on the bedroom reno, sand said coat of mud, replace shot carpet underlay, restretch carpet, prime fresh drywall, paint ceiling, build most of a rollcage for a friends Manx buggy, do the weeks grocery store trip, bbq two chickens over a pan of cranberry juice, write story of lost radiator drain plug, shower, browse the GRM forum, write about my weekend.....
Went to Talladega twice, drank beer
Exhaust on the Crown Vic, drank beer
Headliner in my wife's ZJ, drank beer
I passed up a 1989 Volvo Turbo box . . . to sign contact on a house. Mrs. Zero is happy as pig in E36 M3.
Nothing automotive related but I have been working on an Architecture project for school all weekend, still more to do, it's gonna be a long night.
Fixed window screens and some minor plumbing repairs as per property inspection (sold our place....moving to bigger, better digs with 3-car garage in three weeks).
Then, did brakes on race-Spridget,. Mounted new(er) race tires. Hooked up trailer and put racer on. Loaded spares, tires, tools, etc into tow van.
Leaving Thursday for Jefferson 500 Vintage at Summit Point.
I emptied a dangerously full container of coffee.
helped my second-grader with her family tree project for school. organized part of the basement. cooked a pound of bacon, and actually shared it with my wife and kids!

End of 4 day NYC vacation. Ate bagels in Times Square. Went to Ellis Island and Statute of Liberty. Drove home 5 hours while the wife and kids mostly slept in the car - pulled in after 1am. Slept in waaaaay late, woke up with bitchin' cold from too much touritsy fun and not enough sleep in NYC. Unpacked, browsed GRM forums.

That is epic work to do on nothing but buffet and redbull nourishment.
My weekend:
All day "normal" work on Saturday. Helped wife with art project. Picked up 95 Dodge Avenger from my dad so I could help them sell it. Discovered it was running better than I thought, but was still a dirty cesspool cosmetic basket case. Among other things the engine bay was steadily smoking due to leaving the oil cap off. Degreased the Avenger's and MR2's engines.

Surprisingly accomplished not much
The wife has been wanting a new storm door for the front of the house so we picked one out. I can do brakes, can't do doors. Looked at the instructions hoping for stunning simplicity, but instead will gladly take Home Depot up on their offer to have someone install it for $97
Today I thought it was going to be a washout so I had nothing planned. Turned out to be a decent day, surprise! The National Capital Chapter of the BMW CCA was holding an autocross school at the stadium in town so I took the wife's Mazdaspeed Miata out to watch a little and wonder repeatedly why I didn't sign up. Came home to put down some more grass seed in anticipation of a couple days of rain.
Did not do any playing with toy cars, but we both signed up for Level 1 and 2 SCCA autocross schools for next month. After my last time out I need help.

Had the quietest Saturday at work in a long while. Ended up chatting cars with co-worker for much of the time, then met a customer with an E36 M3. Talked BMW's for a while. Spent all of Sunday in procrastination, avoiding starting an assignment due Tuesday. Now it's mid-afternoon Monday, and I'm still procrastinating.

Worked 28 of 48 hours (Friday and Saturday), spent my day off (Sunday) digging up my yard in the rain for some landscaping. Made bitchin' cheater "bbq'ed" pork shoulder...which strikes me as an excellent snack right about now.
Finished up some work on the house in preparation for renting it out in a few months, then attacked a few more 'shoulda' projects. Nothing automotive, though.
At some point I realised it would be better to start packing for my US trip on Tuesday so I started piling up "stuff" in the middle of the night as I'd spent too much time on the Internet again...
Oh, and I worked a little on one of my pet programming projects.

Built a traction bar for my civic.
Got completely trashed.
Woke up half drunk, studied physics, made a powerpoint.
Productivity....
Got the radiator back in the Alfa. I've decided I'm going to see if the lump fires up before I spend any more effort/money on it. Noticed that the header laying on the side of the garage has a bung for the O2 sensor..but it least it has an O2 sensor stuck in it..I hate bolting stuff up that I know I'll have to remove later on, but I hate not knowing whether or not the thing can be saved even worse.
Not doing anything to it next weekend. Doing the Mitty instead!
