I’ll wave as it goes past.

New bagel place in town? Please say more.
Can’t recall ever getting to a bagel store before they opened but whatever. So I still haven’t been. If you’re coming from JG’s, it’s in that plaza on the right a little before 95. I think there’s a smoothly place in there.
My go-to is DeLand Bagels.
This thread has inspired me. Talk of bagels, talk of breakfast for lunch, talk of a ham (Cuban.)
I have ham. I have no good bread. I do have English muffins...

Can you still get a fried grouper sandwich down there this time of the year? I know there is a grouper ban at certain times.
In reply to Woody (Forum Supportum) :
Lighthouse Landing down at Ponce Inlet (~15 miles from JG) has barbecued grouper.

It's soft - back in the day at Portillo's the owner Dick Portillo required the bread company deliver fresh bread twice a day.
The price sucks cause you start adding up a few eggs and 1/2 a pepper.....
I got Greek food - for the THIRD time this week - from a chain called Greco here in Boston. Chicken Plate with tzatziki, feta fries, tomato, and warm pita bread. I am addicted.
I shouldn't have opened this thread, or opened it before making tuna sandwiches to try to use up the bread before Passover.

SCCA Time Trials Nationals at NCM rules because Bowling Green has an exit with a Krystal and a White Castle about 200 yards from each other.
Sounds like Scottsville rd.... each side of 65 has a Waffle House. If you go farther east of 65 off that exit, you'll see a huge straight lane soapbox derby track on the right in the park...
David S. Wallens said:There’s that new bagel shop near you but, since they’re closed on Sunday, I haven’t been. They also don’t open until 9 on Saturday. When I relayed this info to Steven, he simply said “no.” So, um, yeah, a bagel? It’s what I’m having but mine’s from DeLand Bagel.
This was going to be a rant one morning anyway, but when did bagel places start opening so late. A few days ago I went to get a bagel at 7am, and the shop was closed. It is a breakfast food. I understand closing early but opening late is idiotic.
As for lunch, I'm thinking of getting a turkey sandwich once things slow down here.

Frozen grouper fries up just fine, so it's pretty much a year-round thing here.

Yeah that was on my short list, too. Daytona has a pretty large Greek population and a few really solid Greek restaurants.
JG Pasterjak said:Cubano from Cafe Con Leche wins the day. Rice and beans for a side, natch.
This place is really solid, but it's on beachside and not in our usual orbit so we kind of forget about it.
Good choice and what I was going to suggest.
My early years were in Puerto Rico and since Puerto Rican restaurants don't seem to be a regular thing, Cuban is a close second to getting back to where I started. Gotta have rice, gotta have beans and bonus points for some platanos maduros.
didn't see this thread before lunch, but I did get a BLT bagel sandwich.
Since it's Friday I was going to suggest something deep fried. Like a chicken strip basket with gravy.
My current project is in the heart of a very Caribbean neighbourhood. I'm moving to a new project in a week or so. I'm really going to miss the jerk chicken.

option paralysis has set in.
what do I want, board?
Gas station sushi
We had tacos the other night. I spread some triangle chips on a plate, a little taco meat, some refried beans, LOTS of cheese and one minute in the microwave. Top with spicy green salsa.
The only down side was pre-flighting the 914, lying on the rear deck one hand wrenching, got to enjoy those chips all afternoon!
