Sadly I saw you cannot buy "fuse" anymore and are required to use the electronic ignition only. I spent a lot of time messing with fuses.
Wow... I've only ever done rockets with the electric igniters, and that was ~30 years ago when I started...
Same here..I was kind of a "basement bomber" (more of `em were injured than became a Homer Hickam) before my teacher told my mom about Estes. I was actually kind of relieved to find electronic ignition. Wasn't the marketing, "Just like Cape Kennedy!!" or something?

Secretly? Not that I can think of... I'll happily admit to wanting all kinds of kids' toys; some I had when I was a kid, others that I just wanted...
Of course, it mostly turns out I don't seem to have time to play with things these days. Even my "grownup" toys don't get the exercise they ought to...
I never play with my Tamiya AA-powered Unimog, or maybe I'd let myself go find one of these from my youth:
Had these too. Had way more fun with them than I ever did with remote controll cars.
I have a hard time shopping for Lego for my kids. They want lame stuff like Harry potter or star wars and I always want to buy them awesome ones instead. And then no matter what I buy them I don't get to put them together anyway. Even my four year old who can't read can follow the instructions perfectly and get any set together himself.

TRU has re-released the original Kenner (now Hasbro) Aluminum Falcon, just in time for Xmas. 250$ and it's yours.

Check out these-
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11644441&CAWELAID=904173847&pla=plat&cagpspn=pla they're pretty rad. Most like Stompers i've seen in the last 20+ years.
As for me- man, I've done a ton of toy shopping lately. I want like, 14 miles of orange hotwheels track, and ALL of the battery powered car launcher things.
I found out that this existed... Now I'm enamored.
I bought one of these last week:
I told my wife it's 50% for me and 50% for my son (who is almost 6). It only cost $25, so I figure if it gets crashed no biggie. Brought it into the office to "test" and now almost everyone I work with is buying them as "gifts"
I loved the Stompers as a kid too. I had the yellow version of the baja bug. Great memories.
My cousin and I were fire kids, too. He used to make napalm in a coffee can hanging outside his bedroom window. We also tried the fused rocket engine thing as well, but we had a hard time getting them to light off. Except for that one time when we burned a path of hair off the center of his scalp. I think that was the same summer that I shot him point blank in the nose with his BB pistol.
Good times...
those little helicopters are fun.. I have that exact one at work.... great fun to fly around an empty theatre or event centre.
You CAN fly them outdoors too if it is no more than breezy
I had the Dodge Rampage stomper as a kid
I bought the air hogs version of the heli before everybody and there uncle made them in any size imaginable.

What the hell is an "Aluminum Falcon"?

I had one of those as a kid. I think it was my brothers, but I can't remember. I could go from the concrete walkway around my parents' pool to the pool (about a 6" drop from the edge) at full speed and it wouldn't go under. tons of fun, indeed.
I always wanted a Slinky when I was a kid. A couple years ago I was walking through a store and noticed them on the shelf, so I bought one.
I keep it on my desk so it's always handy to play with.

Also, might as well admit it... I remember being mesmerized by the commercial for the Inchworm riding toy, and bummed that I was too old for it. I'm not ashamed; that jingle was like little-girl crack.
