Do you work on antique pocket watches? I've got two - an 1886 Elgin railroad-style one that has a problem with the winding mechanism, and a 1926 Elgin that I think just needs cleaned/lubed. I've checked with a few local jewelers, but the only one who does these has a horrible reputation for never finishing the job and/or never getting your watch back.

Who wears watches anymore?
Those of us who do patient care, for taking vitals.
I have loved every Timex I've had. The buttons tend to get a little demanding after a while... have to press them pretty hard to get them to work. But, their cheap and bulletproof.
If you want to pony up more than $20, Any of the Citizen and Seiko watches I've had were also wonderful. My Citizen is a bit dressier than you probably want but its a nice mix of analog and digital.
As far as bands go, you can buy any kind of band you want. Don't let the band determine the watch. A trip to a Fossil store will net you a band on which you can put nearly any watch.
