I've got a shiny new set of wheels waiting for tires to arrive and it occurred to me that now is a good time to sit down and throw a couple of coats of wax on them. That got me to wondering if there is something better out there than regular old wax for keeping wheels clean and protected and resistant to dust sticking and such. Any advice?

I just use wax. If there is something better I haven't heard about it.

Thanks, that's kind of what I thought. I just didn't want to miss an obvious solution that I didn't know about.

I've seen some wheel specific sealant/wax for sale over at some of the high-end details sites. I'm planning to pick some up just to see if helps get the brake dust off...The dust from the Porterfield R4S pads I am using absolutely destroy wheels if you don't clean them very regularly.

Teflon coating would probably protect against brake dust the best
