Came home to find this gem in my physical mailbox. Handwritten envelope, return address a few streets over.
I shared it to Facebook, apparently it's more popular than I thought. Someone suggested the Jehova's Witnesses aren't door-to-door lately so there's this.
Anyone else lately?
That does have something of a nostalgic feel to it...
Imagine if Internet comments had to be hand written and mailed in.

Can we insert that into the "If I was king for a day" thread as a special exception to the automotive requirement so far?
I get them all the time. Some of them have really good penmanship.

I will accept that decree it if you hand-write it and mail it me

SWMBO was curious about the return address, it turned out to be the JW church nearby. And interesting that some sites listed it as a family house, others as a church. (I now know there are two bedrooms and 1.5 baths.)
We have gotten a few. If I remember I think I got one on my desk still.
In reply to Jerry :
My coworker got the same thing, i looked up the addy and it was the local jw church.
The bible promise life without problems and true peace around the world? Not as long as humans exist.

We had those. They were called "Letters to the Editor" and were located in something called a "newspaper".
That is surprisingly well written.
Unfortunately a portion of the population probably can't/won't read it because it's in cursive. That portion is getting larger since they no longer teach it in schools.
I get them asking if I would sell me house.....
ohh we are a nice family , blah blah blah...
there are machines that "hand write" letters along with "hand written" fonts
I wonder what the JW uses or if its just child labor !
In reply to californiamilleghia :
Jehovah Witness are big on evangelism. They have a requirement to spend a certain number of hours spreading the word of God to their local neighbors. Hence the reputation for being door knockers.
At a guess, this is someone who is putting in their service.

I'm 100% ok with this
Also, its not like cursive is a different language. It takes instruction to write, but anyone who can read can figure out how to read it, even if it harder to read than block lettering.

So the JW guys get a lot of stuff wrong. The Bible promises that in the new earth, which is pretty clearly a reference to heaven when everything passes away. Revelation is a pretty confusing book, but it's in there.
The thing is that the Bible also pretty clearly says that before then, the world will be full of sin, and therefore sadness, angst, violence, etc. It's kept at bay to various degrees at different eras, but it's not possible to achieve peace on earth through man.
There's a lot more. Read it sometime.
I've gotten a few of these recently, apparently the Jehova's Witnesses in my neighborhood only speak spanish.
Since the religion Pandora's box has been opened...
Jehova's Witnesses are cool. The guys who stop by my house are great guys (and sometimes girls) to talk with. I made it clear to them day one that I am not religious and am an Agnostic Athiest, but I have been more than willing to have philosophical and scientific discussions with them. They have been more than willing to engage in a calm, rational manner. They don't scold me, call me a sinner, or threaten me with eternal damnation, and aren't generally shiny happy people like some people from some other common religions I have dealt with.
Gotten a couple of those letters here. When they used to come to the door here in S FL their 1st language was Hatian creole and their spoken English was very poor.
As a young man (in a different area of the country) I worked in an office where I was the only person in the office that wasn't a witness. The owner of the company was an Elder. nice people to work with and only once when I first started did I get handed a "Watchtower" pamphlet.

I have, multiple times, i'm not the one to go bible misquoting or thumping to. I was merely LOLing at their sentence.

I could barely read it. I don't miss cursive at all!
