Our '12 Fiat 500 'Pop' is at about 39.7MPG for lifetime average in our mixed daily commute.
I have a Chevy Cruze Eco that gets 36-42 with a motor that is smaller that is in my 90 Miata. I really like the Cruze.
my F150 gets ~ 14,
my Integra gets between 34 and 36 ... before the quality of the gas I can get went to E36 M3 , I was getting 40+ on trips
the CRX would (even with the E36 M3y gas) get in the high 30's maybe even 40 on the highway ... it does get 15 - 17 on track
My Phoosat Honker, with it's adiabatic external compulsion engine get's a solid 100 mpg going 117 mph up and down mountains, loaded or unloaded, doesn't matter. And that's with dual quad carbs!
Sold my Civic VX a few years back. It averaged 52 mpg over the 8 years I dailied it, and I certainly didn't try for economy when I drove that penalty box.
My worst recorded tank was 41 mpg. Best was 62.
92 Benz 300D averaged 220 mpg over the course of a number of years. Currently getting 49 in my 99 Golf TDI, soon to be pushing 200+ mpg again.
I took the easy way out. VW diesel here as well.
'99.5 Golf TDI 5-speed. Lifetime average 46 MPG. Just shy of 240K currently.
I can get about 40 out of the 'rolla but typically it's more like 25-30 because I'm just not that patient.
With the new engine I'll probably lose about 3MPG off those numbers.
my all-trac corolla manages 28 mpg @ 70ish, and a touch over 30 @ 55. Factory rating for this was 26 mpg... amazing what a little porting can do
My wife's Prius gets 47 mpg when she drives it and 50 when I drive. My old Civic gets about 38 highway these days. When it was younger it would do low 40's.
Wife's 2000 Accent is still averaging 39+. I think the last tank was 40.3 IIRC. Not bad for a 12yo car with 220(?)+k miles that was rated at 33 hwy when new. When I drive it for a full tank, I get 33-34 consistently. I flog that car like nothing else.
For my DD, the SeX got 28.8mpg last tankful. 360 miles of driving, and 10 auto-x runs as it was co-driven. I was getting 32mpg before the auto-x runs.
I did this on the way in to work this morning:
Disclaimer: I had a light tail wind and it's mostly downhill to work, it'll probably drop to high 60's/low 70's by the time I get home.
My '85 Chevy C30 Dooley gets 10 mpg if I keep my foot out of it. Fortunately not my DD. The MPV gets about 22 in a mix of highway and in-town.
I average 38mpg on the GSF600 and that's with a fairly heavy wrist. The lethargic hamster powered Grand Am gets 27.5 under the same conditions.
I could get my parents' old ecoboost flex to read 99mpg if I cleared the thing while driving and then coasted for a while. The best actual mileage I ever got was 28.5 mpg on an interstate drive of following semis at 70ish mph through central Wisconsin with it's fairly flat, straight roads. Not bad for a boxy twin turbo minivan.
2009 TDI Jetta DSG, this was a best as of yet, one time after about 600 miles of 65 mph all highway "drafting" behind a 24' U-Haul the whole way. Don't ask what the U-Haul's mileage was, I figured it once on the trip, and decided I didn't want to know anymore.
Yeesh, 32mpg out of the corolla. Recently started driving 65-70mph everywhere, and fuel economy has gone up 1 or 2mpg. Weird.
Miata gets 29mpg with a hardtop and roll bar.
