After spending many times the cost of my original cars I came to the conclusion that all the gee-dunks are not necessary to win. Mostly just tightening up the nut behind the transmitter.

Careful.... The first time.you hot that truck up will make you want more. Its worse than heroin. Ask the "budget" drifter I have with the custom Japanese carbon fiber chassis about that.

Much truth here. But it's so much fun to drop $$$ on hot rod parts...

I like the tenth scale rock crawlers. the only one I have left is my ghetto buggy. its a cheap exceed with some home mods. I sold my MOA redcat rs10 because there wasn't any challenging terrain around here. ive also owned a maxstone 16 with a motor upgrade that made it useless for crawling but was fun for 4 wheel rooster tails.

Hell, I remember my 10T. By the time I was done with it, the only stock parts were the trans case, kingpins, rear motor guard and the rear bulkhead. It IS a slippery slope.

Wow. I haven't upgraded much, but I'm keeping it in check. You should see my friend's Rustler. It's got a 2S 40C LiPo, a Speedpassion Reventon S Brushless Motor & ESC, A Flysky transmitter/receiver, aluminum shock caps, MERV slipper clutch upgrade, and washers to keep the rear shocks from bending.

Don't think you need to go nuts to have fun. I did all that when I was 12 because that's what the racers in the magazines did. Except I didn't ever race.

I say build for strength. If you break things, then upgrade to something stronger. Now that its strong, you can get a faster/bigger motor because your truck can handle it.

Throwing parts at it won't make you any better of a driver. More batteries and wheel time will.
