50% less output, I'll no longer need to get the double rolls.

Yeah, it's occasionally a little disappointing. Like I said, no change in sensation and 9 times out of 10 it makes the aftermath easier to deal with for all parties.

My vasectomy cost $200 and I walked out of the office and went back to work.

At the time I got a reversal, they were going for $30K.  In-patient surgery under a general anesthetic.  Elective surgery- insurance won't cover it. (they cost about $15K now)

There aren't many people who choose reversals, but it DOES happen.  Lots of reasons... Just consider that the possibility exists.

Advil, bag of peas, netflix. Take the valium they give you. It makes smelling the cauterization they do way funnier.

I got snipped in Jan or Feb....

Was able to have sex 5.5 hours after I went into surgery, I was really afraid I was going to be broken or it would hurt to "finish"

All was good.  Best decision ever.

They forgot to give me the valium until I was pants off in the snipping room. Nurse comes in and says "whoops! We forgot to give you this. IT'll take effect in about 15 minutes". The doc was in 2 minutes later. won't lie, the drive home though was brilliant. That was the best the wife ever drove.

Yeah, mine wore off on the drive. I had sore nuts, was crammed into a mini cooper with my (ex)wife and my 2 year old. I wasn't happy.

A few diverse notes... you can use frozen corn kernels also; we still joke about how she served both the peas and the corn afterwards;  it's great to never worry about pregnancy again.... until you want another child.  In retrospect I sometimes wish I had saved spe4m so we could of had a third.  But overall, it was a good move.

Post care, pain meds level?  Are we talking narcotics for a day or two, or ibprufen with narcotics day of only???

If you can work from home, anything really in the way of setting up on the couch with the work laptop and having the camera turned off for meetings?

Post-op pain was what I would call pretty tender for the rest of the day.  That night I didn't sleep well, but I think it was because every time I re-positioned I was awakened by the sensation of the ice pack on a new part of my body.  The next 4-5 days I could tell something was slightly off, but I wouldn't call it painful.  After a week it was ancient history.

I'm a little frustrating in the healing category.  I heal super-slowly.  When I had a tonsillectomy I was out of school for 2 weeks.  But the vasectomy was so non-invasive that I healed very quickly.  I didn't take the prescription (Vicodin I think), just ibuprofen.

Mine wasn't bad at all.. no valium or anything, just local anesthetic.  I took it easy that evening and was out in the garage the next day with some ibuprofen.

No worries.

Take a Viagra before your surgery. It makes it easier for the Dr to see.

Not clean of swimmers, but functional.

The drive home and stop for lunch I didn't remember for a couple of days until Nikki was telling me how funny I was during lunch a couple of days later

I didn't get any narcotics.  The first evening was quite tender, but by the second day, at long as I was careful about how I was standing & sitting, it wasn't bad at all. I think I took some ibuprofen that day as well.  By the third day it was getting back into the swing of things.

They gave me an oxy prescription and I never even filled it. I was fine with ibuprofen.

For me it was like going to the dentist. I couldn’t feel anything but I knew I wouldn’t like what he was doing if I could. I had very little pain afterward

I always hesitate to discuss pain levels. We all have different thresholds. Mines pretty low so I felt like I was being kicked in the region with strep toe boots by a giant for the first 48 hours.

My only (slight) regret is that sometimes I miss being able to make as big a mess as I used to.  I'd say my output is down 50%.  No loss or change of that lovin' feeling.

Wow that's a HUGE bummer! You should have mentioned THAT part In the beginning ! 50% less output makes facial a no go. Which makes this surgery a no go . Mistress + no big mess = what's the use

You shouldn't really see that much of a decrease.  I'm a little surprised.  The prostate makes the joy juice.  The swimmers are only a minimal portion.  If you really want to be disappointed have a radical prostatectomy.  No more money shot.

I've heard this from two different people. One of whom has an otherwise very high pain tolerance - he didn't have any issues until about 8 hours post-op, when everything apparently went black and blue. I'm sure that is not the norm though.

I'm not interested in the snip just because my wife and I have never agreed on how many kids we wanted. When we were dating, I wanted 4+ and she wanted only 2. Now i'd be fine with where we are, and she wants more - she's said she wants 3 or 4 now. That is a pretty quick change of something pretty signfiicant, I think it would be a bad idea for us to make a permanent decision.

Had mine done 2 years ago, can confirm-  $17k, it's elective so insurance won't cover a penny, and the hospital won't even schedule you without 50% deposit and the balance before your procedure.  and THAT surgery fracking hurts... I was sore and in moderate-to-severe pain for a full 3 weeks, and it took a full 6 weeks to feel somewhat normal.
