Has there ever been a more 70's sentence? So, non-PC in these times.
First there was the 1971 Movie. Bad movie with a great theme song and staring Richard Roundtree...
Now there is going to be a 2019 remake with Richard Roundtree and Samuel Jackson as his son. Still with the same theme song...
Funny fact, Richard Roundtree is 76 years old but Samuel L Jackson is 70 years old.
And, the best part of both is this old live performance of the theme song...

I didnt even mind the early 2000s remake Sam did. Good movie for idly watching.

In reply to Duke :
I'm just talking about shaft!
I'm confused. So in 2000, Shaft (Samuel L Jackson) is the nephew of Original Shaft, and in 2019 Shaft (Samuel L Jackson) is the son of Original Shaft?
This is like the Terminator and Xmen movies that keep contradicting their own timeline (but at least both of them have time travel)
I <3 70’s blacksploitation films & have since I was kid. Their main characters always seemed like such badasses.
Dolemite would whoop Shaft’s ass, berkeley his woman, and E36 M3 in his pillowcase, you born-insecure, rat-soup-eatin MUTHA berkeleyER!
That's why I'm always showin' much flex when it's time to wreck a mic, Pimpin' hoes and clockin' a grip like my name was Dolomite.
