We just had our septic tank pumped.  I'd like to add something directly to the distribution box that will help revive the finger system's efficiency.  I remember a similar thread here on GRM where someone with experience in this area highly recommended a product to do just this.

What's should I add to help fingers out?

Thanks in advance.

It might be me, as that Septic Expert was the name of my previous company. The product is called Septic Scrub. But first I would recommend getting the vac truck back and vacuuming the lines out from the distribution box. I had a tapered fitting with an elbow that would go into each line from the D box, and then get the truck up to maximum vacuum and open the valve, repeating a few times for each line. It pulls all the garbage out of the pipes and the orifices, and can break up the biomat a bit. Then dump the septic Scrub in the D box and use a garden hose to wash it down all the lines. You can use the Scrub without the vacuuming, but if the field is on its last legs you cannot get the maximum effect. Another option is to jet the lines which you can do yourself with a good size pressure washer and a long hose. Just need to find a jetting tip which is usually available at small equipment stores or where you buy pressure washer parts.
