It's supposed to be funny. Everyone else is laughing. I'm just sick to my stomach. You go, Grandpa.

Eeeergh. And here I am; the asshat who didn't end the thread title with a question mark.

And people are fighting over teaching evolution in schools... teach them whatever you what, folks, they're not going to remember it!
I heard clips of this on the radio. People driving by probably thought I was crazy as I was screaming at my radio.
So the education system is doing an outstanding job since the feds stuck their nose in it. Kind of bad when the only person that could answer was Grandpa.
If you can't answer those questions do me a favor, don't vote. There is nothing more dangerous than an ignorant voter.
Man that makes me sick.
"Why did Washington cross the Potomac?" "To get to the other side."
I suppose that is a correct answer, just not the answer Jay was looking for.
as bad as I know it has gotten.... I had no idea it could possibly be this bad.... a so called college professor ..... I know they won't be, but I hope those people are ashamed of themselves.......
To be fair, Paul Revere didn't say "the British are coming!" What he really said was "the Regulars are out!"
I'm midway through reading the biography of John Adams, and while I knew why we celebrate the 4th of July as a holiday, I have a new found respect for what those folks went through that summer. The entire summer, fall and winter of that year were unbelievable.
But I bet they all know what the Kardashians had for dinner and the names of all of Paris Hilton's dogs.
Disgusting. Particularly the so called 'college professor'.
Only one I missed was, "Who sewed the first flag?" I'm terrible with names.

I'm pretty sure that, if you polled enough people with would be about a 25/25/40/10 split. 25 Bush, 25 Obama, 40 that didn't vote at all, and 10 that can't remember who they voted for.

Bush ran against Obama? Where was I for that election?
Bob Ross!
sorry... I caught one of these!
It's called video editing.
Ask 100 people a simple question and you're bound to get a few really inane responses.
Then play the dumbest responses back and imply they're "representative".
Kind of like the people selected for reality shows are "just normal folks".
Without Google, how well does the average American know our history? What about semi-recent history like World War II? When did it start? When did we enter? Who were our main allies? Why was Germany split in two?

I had a film class in college (I had to pick something that qualified as arts) and it was an ugly sight. Even the teacher got in on it. The class and the teacher were "correcting" each other about the Vietnam War. They all kept getting it confused with World War 2, saying it happened around 1940 and mixing the two wars together as if someone took two textbooks on the subjects and dropped them in a blender. I think one person was thinking that the Vietnamese attacked Pearl Harbor. The teacher said it ended in the '50s. It was a mess.
