We got all of 1/2" of snow here in the suburbs of Atlanta...and last night people were stocking up on milk and bread...and beer...at the local grocery stores. Sad, so very, very sad.
Just praying the power stays on... I can just see me, the dog, and our 5 cats packed into the B2200 to head somewhere warm lol. It's not even an extended cab!
Had to giggle a bit -my snowbird parents left Cincy early to avoid the snow this week. They were sending cranky text messages from Charlotte about the impending white death.
Correction. Now predicting 2-3" here in Philly. Already over an inch. Fortunately, don't really to go anywhere.
True about the power. Up here, the grid system is more designed for snow loads so outages are usually caused by people hitting poles moreso than the weather directly.
We have 4-6 inches of fresh snow in Asheville it will be gone by Tuesday but, that's not really uncommon for us.
Not much snow but central Kentucky has gotten kinda chilly just now. It was a toasty SIX degrees this morning.
I'm gonna work in the garage a bit today but not go outside if I can help it.
It was a balmy six degrees here too. First tracks on the mountain at 7:30... 15 runs in and home for lunch. Bracing! It's good for changing the air in your lungs. It makes tomato soup and toasted cheese taste all the better. Speaking of... mine is ready.
wahhh it was -2 when i left the house yesterday. you can complain when you get into the single digits.
anything over 30 is t shirt weather.

I was stuck in a hotel on the north side during the icepocalypse about 5-years ago(I think?). I drove down in my car w/X-Ice tires, so getting around wasn't bad, but there was nowhere to go and we were a bit concerned the food at the hotel would run out before any stores or restaurants reopened.
It was supposed to hit the mid-20's here last night, but being a block from the beach it seems to not get quite as cold here as they forecast. When I woke up at 5am I briefly considered getting bundled up and going for a short walk along the water, but sanity set in and I went back to bed instead.
West of asheville.
Here is what the miata looked like when i got home at about 3:45pm yesterday.
and here is what it looked like this morning
