I got stuck in the Triangle area of NC back in late 2002 during an icepocalypse episode. Office closed. Hotel without power. Had to drive about 10 miles before finding something with power and open to eat. That was a fun time. Not. That area really isn't equipped for winter weather...

It was -23C (-30 with wind chill) when I arrived at the ski hill this morning.
The water line to the Grosh is frozen. I'm betting it will be OK since it's PEX, but we'll see. I'm not feeling very good about the citrus trees. I covered the plants in the garden but I doubt it will matter.
20 degrees this morning, the coldest we've seen on the north side of Houston since we moved here 16 years ago.
We actually ended up getting snow flurries this morning. No accumulation, but snow. It's 30 outside at the moment.
I was hoping for snow in Birmingham, but all we got was about 3/4 of an inch of sleet and ice. Ever had a sleet ball fight?

No snow here, but it did get down to 20F last night. I've got to make a trip up to MN this coming week which I do every 3-4 weeks, so I don't get to completely miss out on winter, by living in the south. It is supposed to be in the 70's on Friday, so I have to look forward to.
Seemed odd that there were so many posts yesterday but this explains it.
In reply to T.J.:
We'll be 70 by Wednesday, and mid 73 and sunny by Saturday. That's kind of typical around here. Cold spells don't last long.
8 deg here. 6 inches of snow and I am on the sofa with the head cold from hell. I am done with winter at the moment.
Meanwhile in Michigan....
27 here in mn. It's a heatwave.
It's warming up now. Supposed to get up 45-60 and rain continuously for the foreseeable future. Yay mud!

I feel so bad for you...
Here's mine last winter
Thankfully I've only had a half inch so far this winter. It can be spring anytime.
