My son and I have one point (among many) we can bond over. He really, really wants an Airsoft gun. He's into them, much to my wife's horror: my wife was in one too many holdups for her taste.
I get to commiserate with him, because my Mom (his grandma) would never let me have a motorcycle. I found a very cool one, so I wonder...

I didn't realize retro styling was back.
I'm a "stripped sport bike" guy myself. My parents didn't let me have airsoft guns. Now I play with real ones. Only been hit by shrapnel once.

I think that thing looks sweet! I've never been into bikes, but something about super high mpgs and the freedom has me looking at small displacement bikes like this...

Points off for no kick starter.

I didn't realize it ever went away, but my bike is a '76 KZ-400 and I don't pay much attention to new bikes.
I would love to have a bike.. but I life in NJ and at the shore.. which means LOT of people and LOTS of tourists who have no idea where they are going. I almost got into an accident in my last week when somebody realised their exist was there and they were in the fast lane..
no signal, they just pulled across three lanes, cutting off half a dozen people and almost rammed me off into the shoulder as I was in the turnoff lane already.. thankgoodness for good brakes

"Good luck erryone else!"
My Mom said no child of mine will ever RIDE on a motorcycle or own a car with it's engine in the rear.....I moved out and 15 years later did both.
I never had my own gun, used 1 or 2, including one of "Uncle Sam's".
When it comes to retro and motorcycles....retro will never go away as long as there is a Harley-Davidson and Japanese bikes that will copy them.
Good luck finding a "kick start" motorcycle, nowadays. They are still out there, but disappearing fast. Heck, it's soon going to be impossible to find a bike with a carb.
sometimes my typing skills (or lack there of) frighten even me. I hope everyone figured out what I was saying above.
in a nutshell.. I would love to have a bike.. but this area is too full of people who can barely breathe and drive at the same time. If I bought and rode a bike.. I would probably quickly wind up dead.
Riding a bicycle can be a challenge enough around here
I went through my rebellious ride-a-motorcycle-to-spite-my-mother phase. After a year, I decided I was not quick enough to make up for other people's stupidity...darn self-preservation streak!
I figure I'll start riding again when I'm 70 or so. ;) Then I can yell at those kids to get off my road!
That's a really nice looking bike. Stuff like that tempts me to start riding again.

So the first few didn't bother her?
I used to hang glide, you know, throwing yourself off a cliff with a dacron and aluminum wing strapped to you, my brother raced Formula Fords; but my mother hated, hates motorcycles. I don't get it.

Bad wording. The first one was scary as hell. The other one was scarier.
I like it and I have my MSF in a month. I wonder how well a 250 would do at hauling my 275# self around?
How old is said son? Level of maturity, and can you hide the keys from him when he comes home from school???
Tu 250 are soooo bad ass. Do this to it when you get board.

Nice but I would just as soon get and mod an XS650.
Whenever I see a standard unfaired motorcycle, I can't help but imagine it with clubmans, barends, and a solo tail.

My next entry in the 2 wheel stable will be one of these
So what y'all are saying is I should go out in the garage and put the KZ400h back together that's in a million pieces out there. Got it for free a year ago. Dismantled it and cleaned up the frame and tank. Should never have taken it that far apart! Any suggestions? Not a hijack--if you have info about these bikes I could use some help as I've never had a bike before. Pm me or geohataoldotcom.
OT--get the gun and the bike.
Holy cow those bikes are awesome, especially that Yamaha. The Suzuki looks awesome too. Had no idea what was going on in the bike world.
