If you haven't had the chance to see the movie yet do set aside the time to go. This was great! Good story line and enough action to keep you on your toes the whole time.

It tied some things together and explained a lot.

As a fan of it back in the day, I kind of don't like how they ignored some of the old story lines....

OK movie otherwise.

I still have some of my original low number comic books, but this story line I hadn't heard. I don't know how close it came to original, but it was quite entertaining and, to me, better than the original movie.

Like i had said with watchmen, not being a comicbook fan pays off. I wont be bothered by inacuracies. OTOH when star trek comes out next week i will need to refrain from over-analising it.

I said anal giggles

EDIT: Sweet just checked they are getting it in this weekend, now I just have to convince Tiff that is something we should do this weekend lol.

Apparently the leaked version that was all over the torrents a few weeks ago was totally lacking in any of the special effects shots. Can't imagine it would be much of a movie like that, so I suspect it won't hurt the theatrical release much.

A clean fresh start is exactly what Star Trek needs, supposed to be pretty good (they just did the premiere in Hollywood).

I purposefully didn't add any spoiler information and am sorry someone leaked the pregnancy thing, but don't worry that's not integral with the plot line of this movie, but it does set up the next one.

I watched the leaked workprint. It was awesome. I'd say well over 90% of the effects were done; there were at most 3 scenes where the special effects weren't complete and it didn't take anything away from the movie. I'll watch it again when it hits HBO/SHO/MAX.

I just got back from seeing it. I thought it was good, though a few things I would have done differently. I am glad they at least started it where the original origin story of Wolverine started though it took a sharp left turn right at the beginning.

Mostly I was horrified by how bad the special effects were. There were points where Wolverine's claws looked like they were put in with photoshop. It was completely unacceptable.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing like when he was in the bathroom looking at them for the first time.

That was a bizarre kind of him discovering himself moment especially when the old man came and knocked on the door lol.

Ummm, sorta like the first time someone banged on the door during the pubescent male 'early self discovery' days?

yep that is exactly what I was thinking about when I saw that, not really something that you would expect from Wolverine lol.

So, uh, is this Wolverine's brother? Or sister . . . .I'm talking about Meg.

I swear, it's the first thing I thought about! Does this guy have any cameos in the first three X-Men movie or perhaps the comics?

It was a cool movie though! I was depressed and heartbroken at the end though. Then I got a cookie.

Uh are you talking about Victor? Yeah he plays a fairly major roll in the comics and is in the first movie. Victor Creed is Sabertooth. It was originally planned that Victor was actually Logans father though that idea was scrapped (even though they have played up the idea a few times). Sabertooth even shares Wolverines healing ability, this points to the family connection between them even more. In the "Origin" comic series there is a character known as "Dog" Logan, this character looked surprisingly like Sabertooth though it never was officially the same man.

In the movie they took the "Dog" character and took it to the next step and made him Victor to complete the connection between Sabertooth and Wolverine.

The story of Sabertooth and Wolverine in the comics started after WWII as part of the Weapon X program. They were both subjected to the experiments though Sabertooth was never given the treatment of the adamantium. I think in one of my old comics it has some of the stories of them fighting in WWII with Captain America.

I thought Sabertooth had greater levels of primal instinct, raw strength, and had a bone structure that was upgrade, but not metal.

I seem to remember some battles where had it not been for Wolverines intelligence he would've been beat.

I liked it a lot, but probably my biggest issue was that the Sabretooth in the first movie was nothing like this one, and had no apparent recollection of Wolverine.
