I'll be honest, I'm kind of burned out on the Top Gear format, but I do plan on giving this one a chance. First off, I like Dax Shepard and he's a local boy, grew up about 15 miles from me. Second, the episodes are short, around 30 minutes, so if it sucks, it's not a big investment. And third, I get MT On Demand for free because I have Hagerty insurance on the Boxster, so it costs me nuthin'.

It may not be the greatest. It may not be just like the old Top Gear (and they are really getting oooollllddd), and they where not always great. It looks like it might be a good approximation, so something is better than nothing (or Count's Kustoms, depending on how you want to look at it)

I liked the Tanner Foust crew, especially towards the end, they had gelled. Not sure why they keep trying different groups of guys...
I really liked the Tanner Foust crew, they had really come together at the end of the series. I'm also not sure why it was canceled. I just finished the first episode. I knew Jethro Bovington from the other motor trend series and already liked him. The other two guys seemed like they would be good and they seemed like legit car guys.
I'm so desperate for car entertainment that I'll watch just about anything at this point. Hopefully this show will be good. I'm willing to wait. I am also in agreement that the top gear formula is getting a bit thin. With that said, I think if every roadkill was a junkyard rebuild and road trip, I'd never complain.
I just canceled Motor Trend (via Prime) after they dropped the British Superbike coverage, which ended up being the only thing I actually watched on it.
It turns out that the Clarkson/Hammond/May era of Top Gear is about the only car show I really liked, I guess.
I'll cross my fingers for everybody who's giving it a go, but I can't bring myself to re-up for money.

Dax is a pretty solid car guy. I'll watch an episode or three.

I couldn't make it past five minutes in when the truck got "accidentally" hit by a semi.
The Top Gear format only worked with the original Top Gear personalities.
Do they wreck stuff unnecessarily? Won't be watching.
I watched the first one, and it actually wasn't bad. The three guys seemed to have some chemistry, and the car porn was good. And it was nice to take in that gorgeous Top Gear cinematography again. The blue Huracan in the black and white background was really on point.
I'll keep watching.
