i see a lot of people go watch drag racing... but how many people here have actually done it?
I've raced a Camaro in high school that was moderately quick. I think it ran a best of high 12s eventually.
I took more than one pass in my old Volvo Turbobrick, in the Lemons LTD, my first car (81 Camaro that was quite slow) and my old 84 chevy truck.
I did a little "run what you brung" in HS at a local track. I had a '77 Dodge Aspen wagon that had been worked over by a co-worker of my dad's when he rebuilt the engine. It wasn't all that quick but made a wonderful noise and the worn out suspension would cause it to squat like it meant business. I would spend stupid money I don't have to recreate that car for my kids.

I really need to go to a top fuel event. Not a huge drag racing fan, but it's something I want to experience.
It literally shakes your eyeballs.
Took the wife one time and she wore a pretty all white outfit. After top fuel, it rains down little pieces of greasy tire. She smiled big and looked like a spotted dalmation puppy at the end of the day.
Holy crap. Just got back home from Bandimere... that was quite the experience. I didn't really do anything all day but I feel like the sound pressure on my body has worn me out!
