Last summer (NY) wasn't too bad overall, but had a few oppressively hot days; during one on which I forgot to turn on the AC in my 2nd floor apt, and came home to a rather toasty abode:

They can take the heat. Got a little guy that lives under some stuff on my brick patio facing southwest. A real cooker. I should get rid of him but he'll be food for something soon enough. There's a bobcat that snoozes under a rosemary shrub about ten feet away...

that's daily here. I don't use air conditioning
