I feel like I drive through the garden state too often without stopping to enjoy myself. I was born there and grew up there but I never really spend much time there anymore...
Where should I treat myself to a nice meal next time I am making laps around the gsp, nj turnpike & AC expressway?
the quick stop right next to the video store
theres a place up in Edison, called Harold's... The portions are HUGE!! Something you would take a picture of and send to people...

Actually, I buy other stuff there.... A couple of guys hanging around out front sell really good, um, er, stuff
well, what are you looking for in particular? I live right off of the Expressway at Exit 9... so let me know next time you are making a lap.. if I have off, we can grab something
Bazzarelli ,117 Moonachie Rd ,Moonachie NJ. Excellent italian food near the Teterboro airport. The spanish place next door is also good, I think the name of that is Segovia.

That's my old neighborhood... I grew up closer to exit 30 on the parkway and have plenty of family still in the area...
I'm open to anything and will definitely get in touch next time I am down that way (maybe even this wednesday?) so we can commiserate about Swedish nightmares...
well, I have plenty of saab stories about the car I have owned for 2 years and only driven 2000 miles... I grew up in Ocean City, So Exit 25 on the parkway is my home area
I'm gonna try some of the places listed in the thread over the next week or so. I don't mind driving a hour for some excellent grub.

White House Subs.
When you enter AC from the Expressway, it's in the neighborhood to the right.
Bergen Rest Stop. Then keep driving.

Excellent suggestion, but my brother's restaurant is in AC so I kinda have to go there when in town. Although since you are already in OC I do really love voltaco's...

Jersey isn't that big, keep driving until you hit New Castle and stop at the Dog House.

A couple kids from college used to get really high and drive the 8-hour round trip just to get White Castle.
They were the smarts!

For some reason, this thread reminds me of a joke I heard a long time ago.
Guy's on a date with this hot chick and they finished dinner and he's like "So, what do you wanna do next?" She leans over and whispers in his ear, "I want you to kiss me where it smells."
So he drove her to New Jersey.
But yeah, I'm actually from Jersey, just been awhile since I lived there. How about The Spinning Wheel Diner on 22 in Lebanon, NJ? Had a pretty good meal there once, and the parking lot was full of classic cars!
