all great establishments.
I like the AC style cheesesteak better than the Philly. The rolls are better and they don't chop the meat up. Sacko's is pretty much the same family for a little less money.
Tony Boloneys in AC is also great.
For the novelty factor there is a pizza place in Pleasantville called Johnny D's that has to have some of the biggest pizza's served in the country. We're usually in there late at night, and being Pleasantville, it's an interesting crowd, but we've never been bothered.
Anything Italian from Voltaco's is great. Hands down the best meatball sub you'll get anywhere.
Yesterdays is pretty good bar food. I use to work next door at the farm stand in high school.
The Chatterbox is great if you're looking for a cheap and hardy meal. They usually have really good specials.
Ready's is where all the locals get their breakfast.
I like Kessel's Corner as well. They use Benny's rolls, and I think they have the best french fries and ice tea around.
But my favorite place to eat is Rojo's Jersey Mex Cafe (on 11th and Haven Ave). It's a little off the beaten path, but the food is delicious. It's your classic old surfer dude owned mexican take out/eat in place.
I miss Campbell's Seafood though. Nothing said summer like boxes of fried chicken, fish, and french fries.
As for elsewhere, right off Rt55 in Millville across from the super Wawa is a great Italian place called Serafina's. Huge portions for reasonable cost. It's also only about 10 minutes from NJMP.
The Maplewood resturants also serve great Italian food. I think there are three of them (Vineland, Hamonton, and Mays Landing).
