Just a fun game. No, I'm not a billionaire suddenly. Say you become a billionaire, overnight, some unknown relative leaves you something like $4 Billion. What's the first 5 things you do?

Ready?

GO!!

Don't forget the green dress.... but not a real green dress, that's cruel.

Pay off everything I,my parents, inlaws and b-i-l's owe. Set up a trust fund for my nephews. Buy several nice vacation homes across the country/world. Give my boss 4 weeks notice and plan on taking 18 months off of work to do NOTHING. Build one massive garage/shop with every tool/equipment one could ever want then let any of my friends and family come use it.... and pay a crew to clean up when we/they are done.

Lastly.... I would buy the 258 acres for sale 5 miles from my house. I would pave it, install perimeter lights, a fence and 2 sets of restrooms along with a large covered area with electricity outlets. Then offer it to the local SCCA region to use as much as they want for $1 per event as long as they help maintain it. Half asphalt, half concrete.

You can spend a million pretty quickly, but billion with a B puts you in a whole different league.

My coworkers specialize in managing the money of the rich and super rich. First thing I'd do is hit one up to set me up with financial strategy that mitigates the worst of the tax liabilities.

Next up would be a rigorous financial plan, including setting up trusts to take care of the rest of my family.

Then would come the big family decisions to improve our quality of life - What's most important to us? What would we like to do with our lives? Where would we like to live?

The rest of the stuff - houses and cars and travel and events and memberships are details that come after the big decisions are made.

My personal dreams:
- Become a licensed club racer, complete at least a season of racing
- Secure a driving season with a team in a pro sprint series
- Secure a season with a team in a pro endurance series
- Eventually race at Le Mans

I'd probably get married, fly the entire guest list to some amazing place. My bachelor party would be at an offroad park with every available offroad toy including rally cars. Honeymoon would be property shopping in the Caribbean aboard a yacht. I'd make my new wife director of a refugee resettlement non-profit, and I'd probably employ fair-wage ex-refugees in some sort of farm setting.

I'd start a mountain biking land trust, purchase a few mountains that would be mountain biking and hiking only and travel around to them to build trails employing disadvantage inner city youths and refugees.
