I'm parting out 2 1999 Chevy Trackers. I'm keeping the engines, transmissions, t-cases and wiring harness as spares for my rock crawler buggy. Everything is free.
Parts already gone
- aluminum wheels
- electric fan from both
- front diff assembly from both
Roof rack cross bars from green one?
In reply to Patrick (Forum Supporter) :
Sure, if I can get them off without the key. Worst case I'll cut the Tracker roof bar and slide the cross bars off.
Thanks! I'll see if michael crawford can get with you on those. My sister's subaru is missing cross bars
Yeah, I can get them to Michael. He wants a few parts as well.
What kind of rear axles do they have? Strength wise, I know nothing about them but they are probably pretty narrow and wondering how one would do for a lightish car with power for challenge use
I'm fairly certain they are 4.88 gears since they are both automatic, typically the 5-speed ones have 5.12 gears.
No idea on strength. The rear axles do have a drop out 3rd member like a Toyota truck or Suzuki Samurai. Drum brakes on the rear.
These do have rack and pinion steering as well, if anyone could use that for a challenge build.
Can i get a complete rear axle too? Looks like it might work for a challenge bad idea

Sure, do you want a pair of wheels with it?
Missed thread title opportunity:
I've got '99 Trackers and free parts, son.
re: I've got 99 problems and...
In reply to Brett_Murphy (Agent of Chaos) :
Ha, definitely a missed opportunity. I lack creativity at times.
In reply to untchabl :
Sure i plan to redrill everything to 5x4.75 but rollers would help!
Also i guess a rear driveshaft so i have a yoke that matches the diff?
i appreciate everything

You're not in the BDT so your ideas are only moderately poor.
In reply to Patrick (Forum Supporter) :
Sure, I'll add it to your pile.
