If  you should decide to go "old school" and put a live axle in this thing, I have a RWD Corolla transmission, drive shaft and rear end. Front stuss is Macstrut, but the hubs might transfer to some home built  A-arms .

Still needs a Body from a Production Car to be Challenge Legal,  Like the Free X/19,  Hull that Baby Out and Hang it with the engine in the seat like Patrick intended.

Yeah - noticed that after posting and then looking at Challenge rules after. Hanging a body on it ain't such a bad idea...

Free x1/9 dude.  I don’t know when team robbie needs that gone but i need to go to that general area sometime in January or February, I just don’t have a trailer capable of getting a non rolling car anymore(on purpose)

I love that, on purpose!

Price and body are right, timing is all wrong. I can get away with a lot of car-related things in my life, a spare car body sitting around for ~5 years isn't one of them. I would say unfortunately but it's probably a good thing.

Bam.

I started to prime it and ran out! I guess *most* of it will be more protected.

It seems like my challenge plan with this frame is no longer in the cards which means I don't have a use for this. If/when I build an actual Locost/Caterham I'd rather start from the beginning.

Anyone want it for the princely sum of $0?

The biscuit is finally in the basket on this!

Plans at the moment are "in the works" and "up for interpretation and realignment". But nothing will be happening immediately.

Thanks all!!!

I think I have the original book for building a locost somewhere in the basement. Another of thw cool things I thought Id build.

Probably for the best I missed it while it was up the street, given that I need to divest myself of all my other nonfunctional vehicles.

Got any close-up/clear pictures of the rear subframe mounting points? This is what I planned on doing with my locost chassis, using Miata rear subframes.

In reply to accordionfolder :

I guess I deleted all the pics I once had of it but essentially the section of the Miata that the subframe mounts to has been sliced out and married to the Locost frame. So the subframe mounts up exactly as it does to a Miata.

It looks too nice to part out.

I have one of those frames leaning against the wall in my garage for the last 15 years. I guess there are a lot of these unfinished sevens out in GRM land.

One leaks a little and the other leaks a lot. Both were free.

Bil and I are planning to try and fix one to take the kids fishing. The other....

I'll get you some. It's a section of Miata unibody welded in. Smart, I think.
