You want more hp and torque than any A-series street build could ever hope to provide in an MG Midget? If so, there is no question that a late model Ford Zetec swap is what you need! This collection of brand new parts is ready to add to this relatively low mileage 2.0 L Ford Zetec " Blacktop" aluminum cylinder head 4cyl engine and a hard to find (in the States) Ford T9 5-speed transmission.
Critical parts to make all of this come together have been sourced from JLH Minor Restorations, parts which include custom motor mounts, transmission mount and special bellhousing to make the swap a pretty straight-forward operation. In its box stock form, this Zetec engine puts out 130 hp and 127 lb·ft but with this OMEX individual throttle body set up, new ECU, a freer flowing exhaust and a fast-road camshaft, 170-200hp is easily attainable without any internal work!

No surprises - I'm listing the parts and what I paid for them (see screenshot of spreadsheet). These are 2019 prices so everything would cost you more today....and don't forget about shipping from the UK (ouch, I know I can't). I have first hand experience with the cost of a performance build A-series and while they are fun little engines, they can't compare to the modern design and significantly larger displacement of this Zetec.....and in the end, the total weight is almost the same!!! Same go-kart handling you love about a Spridget but with a whole lot more GO..and with a 5-speed, you can actually drive it on today's highways.
Selling it for what I have in it. Not willing to break up the set (buy it all and sell off what YOU don't want).
