Makes you wonder what's broken/not usable as apparently they can't run the software for it anymore?
I've got a lot of time on a similar Mustang dyno. They're really versatile units and the software is pretty good. However, a lot of the older units out there are intended for emissions testing and can only hold about 300hp on a power pull.
Thanks for the link - that's close enough for me to bid on.
A lot of this stuff was XP or (gasp) Win 3.11 based and the hardware doesn't support newer operating systems. Might be possible to set it up vintage style running XP or whatever. It does look like an emission dyno which is probably does not have an eddy current.
I like how they show a CD for a non-mustang product. Looks like an engine analyzer, maybe thats included too!

I suspect it's a question of people not being well versed in the operating systems required to run the Mustang software. I could probably have the computer itself up and running in a couple hours assuming I didn't need to order parts off eBay to fix it. Obviously the dyno itself, I have no idea if anything is missing or broken. But the computer is a commodity obsolete Windows machine.
the cabinet setup looks like an e-check station piece. it makes sense with emissions testing getting deleted in most of the state, and now that OBD2 is the only test since it's a rolling 25 year exemption they don't need dynos anymore
It is an eddy current dyno. They show the power absorber in one of the pics. I don't see it on their website anymore but the software used to be a free download. I don't know if they still are but, they used to be really good at supporting older equipment. The software is probably available if you ask.
If anyone needs to know how to make a bootable USB thumb drive with a windows XP sp2 clean install on it, let me know because I just had to do it this weekend to get my super old laptop to connect to my even more old electromotive ECU.
maybe my laptop would run this dyno too haha.
Tbh i was going to bid because my shop computer runs XP, and who doesn't need a dyno, but my govdeals account is broken.
I used to run emission testing dynos and that looks a lot like the ones that we used. But if it's blue, it didn't come from Connecticut.
That was right at my limit - I was #2 bidder. Kind of wish I went to 2500 but I think bidder #1 was in it to win it.
