rusty 18' dovetail 7k car trailer. steel deck is solid. tongue is solid. frame is perforated in several places, but a couple years ago I flipped it over and built a 2x2 tube perimeter frame under it, tied the torsion axles into it, and tied tongue into that with a beefy 3x4 angle. it's ugly, has only taillights no markers. brakes not functional, I may have removed and scrapped the backing plates. has a harbor freight atv winch that works with jumper cables and i've used it quite a bit. pull out ramps are rusty at the back end but work. in february last year I put new 13" wheels and tires on it for low cars. currently one of those has several plugs and still leaks after a couple days, one blew out after getting cut on rebar in the road, and 2 are good. it has one 15" old spare on it but can toss a 13" on so all 4 ride on the road when empty. 2 5/16 ball. fenders solid. plan on needing 2 tires.
I use it constantly, just took it to the steel supplier the other day. It's ugly, it looks sketchy as berkeley, but it works and i've towed it all over. Did just fine with h3 hummer for 200 miles and Q45 plus a disassembled tow dolly from cleveland to charlotte. will it give you 10 years of trouble free service? doubtful. will it give you 3-4 years of cheap car trailer ownership while you save for something better? highly likely, especially with a little more plating and welding.
E36 M3ty car trailers are still worth a grand, let's call this one $750 with the GRM discount code because I'll put up for $1200 obo locally. only caveat is it can't leave for a couple weeks, I promised my uncle I'd move his vehicles around so he can fix his truck. only reason I'm selling is I've collected enough cheap materials to build myself a new trailer. No paperwork, previous owner had a title but the serial tag rusted off and he never gave it to me. Ohio doesn't require titles for trailers this size so I did not care. Location is Valley City, Ohio.
