If this shouldn't be on here, feel free to take it down.
I was given an old Mares windsurfing board by a neighbor when we moved into this house. We're now moving and I don't want to take it with me.
Last time I looked at it, the sail was in good shape but there's a (couple?) cracks in the back of the board. It's one of those really heavy huge ones from the 80's or 90's. I had a picture somewhere but I think it was on an old phone and I can't find the exact model online.
If no one wants it, I'll chop the board up, throw the misc parts away and use the sail for a canopy off the truck for the racetrack but I figured someone where may want it.
If you were closer I'd be all over it, I rode a Mares to school about a 1/3 of the time when I lived in Avon, NC.
Tell people it's a SUP and you'll be fighting them off.

To school? Did they make skateboards?
Damn. Too far away. Just what I need to finish my canoe.
Sail for the sailing conversion, and the board converted to an outrigger.
Sailing conversion, or for running my gas outboard motor.
Poor canoe doesn't get much love since I bought a Miata.

Nope, outer banks of NC, lived in Avon north of the point of Hatteras island, school was on the soundside south of the point and you could see across the sound. Boardsailing and kite boarding to school was fairly common in the fall and late spring. More kids would take skiffs to school then the bus.

Damn That's about the coolest thing I've ever heard.
Next time I head down there I'll take some photos of the board sail rack they have. I miss that alternative universe, most of the time.
I'd like to see that.
The board itself is actually at the garage a rent which I will no longer need with the new house/garage. That lease ends 7/15, FYI. By then it'll be trashed.
Maybe I'll throw it on marketplace to give it a fighting chance...
Your life will be so much better not having to get back to that awkward garage with a trailer and elmore anymore, and also having your garage at home.

I know man. It's hard to complain because at least I have a space to work with but having everything at home is going to be awesome.
Pictures in case it entices anyone!
I texted my dad because it seems like something he would want to make something else with
Awesome. Just let me know.
I remember dragging those big boards across the sand , Windsurfing was fun for a couple years , then I got as good as I could on flat water and was too chicken to go out in the waves !
But watching the Pros jump waves on Maui was amazing ,
I can't imagine this thing getting air... SO heavy.
Literally 0 bites for $50 on LetGo and Marketplace. Looks like it's probably getting the AXE.
Many bites with the price changed to $0. It's gone.
