As a winter diversion, Olaf the Miata is going to get lifted a bit and some big blocky rubber installed to play around at the parents farm and teach a few nephews (12-14 years old) to drive a manual in the wide open grassy areas. Just checking to see if anyone has a Paco lift kit or stock springs (Olaf is currently on lowering springs which kinda defeats the purpose of the lift).
I threw mine away, and it felt amazing to toss them into the landfill. Sorry! I never thought someone might have a use for them.
I was just excited to not have to use a spring compressor ever again... On this car at least.
I would try and find some coilovers, in whatever condition.
Or just run it as is with the bigger tires. How much lower is it?
It wouldn't be all that hard to extend the shock mount pockets on the A-arms to get some lift. Some 2x3x0.125 tube could be welded on to extend them. I had thought about trying it to raise my Miata, but not to the height of the Paco kit. It amounts to the same lift as putting a spacer above the strut hats.
In reply to dr_strangeland :
It is about 1.5" lower than stock, so currently 4.5" lower then it would be with stock springs and the Paco 3" lift kit. Add in the 27" tires I plan to use and the car will be about 6.5" higher then it sits today. Unless I find/cobble up a custom shock, I don't think I can gain much with a coil-over designed for the NA Miata.
You can get pretty tall with the Fox setup, I've done that in the winter.
But if you want the bolt-on Paco setup, you'll never guess who has them in stock :)
