So the simplest way to do this is to find a B210 Datsun 5-Speed and put it behind a 1098 or 1275.
Lots were made, so should not be that hard to find.
Shipping is not a deal killer.
I may have Spitfire, Spitfire OD, Suzuki Samurai, TR6, or MGB trans for trade goods.
I don't have one but KRAP in Toledo Oh had two 210 with 5 speeds last time I was there

Are B210 transmissions different from other Datsun units? I seem to be able to find units from Datsun 1600 roadsters but not 210s. The only 210 unit local to me is listed at $2500 with a "Rivergate conversion", whatever that is.

That is a greedy price for the conversion I want to do. B210 into Spridget/Morris Minor.

I have been given new information, "The correct gearbox is from a '79 to '82 210 (B310), not a B210".
'River gate' is the company that makes the conversion plate for the BMC A series to Datsun trans. That might be a gold mine there.
Yeah, KRAP is king road auto parts. They aren't open sundays and rarely answer their phone other days. It's an old school kind of junk yard
