So where'd you get the new cabinets, and what did you think of their construction?  They look good, anyway, so I'm interested to know the source.

I think I would have taken all the funky slats off the doors, for a plain look.

Yes that was the initial plan. However, decided to leave them on. Don't mind them so much.

I did the same cabinets in my last house. No fancy rounded corners, no fancy colors. Base model white ones.  They are sold in Home Depot/Lowes/Closetworld etc. I am not sure who the actual manufacturer was. 

In my last house, they have stood the abuse of renters etc, for last 17 years. Looks as good as I bought them new. 0 issues with them.
