I just sold the Quik Jacks that I literally never got out of the box.  I have a 3-ton super heavy floor jack but it's not low profile and I want something a little lighter.  When Tire Rack was here installing tires on my Corvette, they just used 2 floor jacks to lift it one side at a time (I should have looked at what they were using!).

I was planning to go Harbor Freight but some of the reviews were pretty awful.  Prices are all over the place.

Ideally I'm looking for a low profile (maybe aluminum) 2-ton jack I can use on the lower cars around here.  Since we are still in the after Christmas sales I thought this might be time to ask the hives opinion.

I'm open to new or scoring a used one, though most of the used jacks I've found look like they've been through a war.

HF or somebody else?

It falls short of your 2 ton requirement, but I have been using the jack below for most of my jacking needs for the last year or so. I have a big 3 ton as well but the HF jack is light enough to grab with one hand and carry around. I bought it for RallyCross so I didn't have to lug the big one around and find myself using it for everything.

I really like the harbor freight aluminum one that is a bit heavier duty.  The 3 ton one.

I have had this for several years and it's always been great!

I had the 1 5 ton before and didn't like It as much.  It would occasionally try to wobble or bend if any side load was applied.

The 3T has been great!

Really though, I would recommend any of the Pittsburgh aluminum floor Jack's that have the "front wheels" on the outside.  2 T, 2.5T, 3T.

Yes, occass8onally check the tightness of the hardware.  So, the hydraulics on some of them need to be bled every so often (it's easy).  Weird, something mechanical needs maintenance.  Lolz.

Thanks to both of you for the input.  This qualifies as an item I rarely use but when I do i need it to work.  The majority of the reviews on the HF jacks are good, but the vocal minority had me concerned.

I bought the aluminum 2 ton from HF in 2018. I have done a few hundred autocross events since, and it's lifted my cars twice for the tire swaps every time, plus for service and repairs.I've been happy with it. I thought the 1.5 looked too flimsy.

I have a steel 3.5 ton jack that I use for heavy vehicles.

I have both a Harbor Freight steel jack and an OTC aluminum jack. They both get used regularly and I'm happy with both. The OTC is a much nicer tool but is about 3x the price. It looks and feels it and I'm more confident in it and do not regret the spend at all, but wouldn't hesitate to use a Harbor Freight jack at any time.

My specific OTC jack looks to be unavailable these days but this is it:

"Regular" price $189, had a coupon for $149, opened the credit card (which I will pay off as soon as the balance shows up) and got 10% off of that.  I'm good with $135 for it.  It is no more than half the weight of my 3 ton floor jack and much easier to roll around.  I'm officially pleased.

Thank you for the help!
