There's a lot of FIA "type" battery isolators on eBay for around $15, so I bought one for my small 4x4 buggy. It has three circuits: isolating the battery, cutting off the engine, and activating a resistor circuit to drain any remaining voltage from the power lines to protect the components. However, I've noticed that the resistor circuit only activates after the battery is isolated, leaving a window for voltage spikes to potentially cause damage.
Has anyone else experienced issues because of this? Or is this normal behavior for all battery isolators?
