We need a jack for rally service- for a long time I had the ubiquitous gray Pittsburgh one and it actually still works, but is getting so crusty that I have trouble trusting it.  About 2yrs ago I bought a new equivalent Daytona jack, which looks almost the same as the Pittsburgh unit, but has consistently needed bleeding and with any significant weather changes seems to have a tendency to get slow and crappy at the worst possible moment (like a 30min service where the lifting time actually counts).  This hasn't bitten us hard, yet, but it might and I'm not really interested in waiting until that happens.

The standard for the big boy rally teams is this monstrously heavy and unthinkably expensive AC Hydraulic jack, which works awesome and lifts very high but is also way too big and heavy for me to get in and out of the truck by myself, not to mention the price.

Anybody have an in between solution that they like?  Priorities:
-24" lift minimum
-Reliable, even in outdoor environments
and to a lesser degree, nice to have:
-Cheap
-Light

Any advice appreciated.

Would the 1.3 t version AC Hydraulics do the trick? Looks like it's about 22 lbs lighter than the bigger version you listed and still goes to 29". From a quick look anything that hits 24" lift height from anyone else is full steel construction and similar in weight to the big boy AC. Other than the price it seems like th AC Hydraulics is in a league of its own.

Is this the only jack you bring for service? Could a lighter aluminum jack that goes to 18" or so do most of the work with a much heavier 24"+ lift on the side if needed? Might save your crews backs for most of the jobs they need to do.

Depends- if we stick with crappy jackstands, maybe not, but if we do proper pin stands there's really only going to be one service height.  I also only have the one truckbed to use, so I'd rather bring one good jack vs multiple.

I'm pretty sure the answer is blue and it comes from Denmark.

If someone else has a suggestion for something similar though for less I want to see it too.

PH Jacks? Anybody heard of these?  The specs look right, even if the base is a little small.
