Shop or amateur, don't really care. Just need a lift and a bushing press.
My 2012 Mazda5 wants rear trailing arm bushings and all rear suspension arms replaced. Could DIY it but don't want to commit the time if I can pay someone competent and appropriately equipped.
I've called a few shops. So far, they all either want to charge me both arms and legs or force me to use their own parts. Anyone here willing/able to help, or know someone who might be?
If you were anywhere near me I'd love to have you come by.
Alternatively you could definitely do it with a floor Jack and an inexpensive harbor freight press
Pay someone or start doing the work. No one will do it so cheap that they aren't covering the equip and overhead.

Yep, paying someone is the plan.
To be clear, when I say a shop wants to charge me both arms and both legs, I'm talking on the order of $1k for front tie rods, excluding parts and alignment. That seems astronomical to me. Is it actually normal these days?

That seems very expensive! I'm assuming that a Mazda 5 is fairly conventional.

Seems odd for just a pair of tie rods, but who knows. If you came in with attitude it may have been a gtfo of here price.
Where you at near Philly I have friends at some Indys but they aren't in the city.

Yeah, I ended up doing this myself and it was a really simple job. Took me like 2 hrs with help from a total noob. Can't imagine it'd take a shop more than 1 hr.

Oh man I hope I didn't come across as having an attitude! This is a place that's already scheduled to have my car for tires and alignment. I just emailed them like, hey, since I'm already dropping it off, how much would you charge to also do this other stuff?
I'm in Philly proper and willing to go, say, up to 1.5 hrs outside the city.
Ok I know people (head tech/mgmt) at the following and have good reputations:

Little bit of a haul from center city but maybe worth the call on estimating.
