Here's the info on the 128i that we were discussing last night:
Curb weight dry 3252lbs
Distribution 50.8F/49.2R
230hp@6500
200lb-ft@2750
Transmission Ratios 4:30/2.46/1.66/1.23/1.00/0.85 (reverse 3.94)
Final Drive Ratio 3.23
As I expected, there are significant differences between the 128i and the 1M gear ratios, so these numbers should get things feeling closer to where they should. Thanks.
OK, updated. The new file is up there (v2)
Yes, some rather subtle differences. The power is a bit different from the first model, so there might be something strange there, the torque went down the but hp went up (which might indicate a higher rpm torque peak?). Should be pretty close either way though.
I found a very good source for torque curves. Find you car (motor at least) in here and post the link to it (it should give an easy to translate table):
https://www.automobile-catalog.com/list-bmw.html
e.g. Here is the chart for a stock 72 2002: https://www.automobile-catalog.com/curve/1972/76565/bmw_1602.html
I call this: Maxi Mini Vengeance
Seeing the replay, the Fairlane tried to close the door on me, so I'm saying that's 50/50. The Mustang, well, yeah, I guess that one's on me - sorry.
I think I may need a custom "Wrecking Ball" livery for that car....

The Mustang was exhibiting strange and dangerous behavior and needed to be eliminated for the safety of others.
The Fairlane did not know the Mini was there. Just assumed that you could not fit a car there. Forgot that a mini is mini LOL
BTW there was a windows update that caused a re boot of the server at some point in the last 24 hours. We are all back up and running again.
I actually liked the Merc Race. It was fun to take my car on track virtually. I still can not get over just how good of s simulation it really is. The power and handeling are all very good. the engine noise is much more muted in my car but that is a simple volume adjustment to get correct. It even has the same burble on the down shifts.
Next up will be the 88 951 and the FC rx7. I am going to have to see if the 951 I found can be made a little less tail happy as the one I found feels a bit to loose. I always set these cars up a bit more neutral.

Having looked through the options on the page you linked, I think the Alpina A2 is probably pretty close. Same cam, similar compression, similar carbs to mine.
OK, a preliminary version of the 2002 is up there bmw_2002t_s.7z . (There is a base car and a Modified(NA) version). Let me know what is right and wrong. You may already have the base car if you downloaded some 2002's already.
The engine power is copied from the A2, and the turbo deleted. I cranked the brakes up a bit (assuming you upgraded). I imported the adjustable suspension from a street performance version. The ranges are a bit weird in the suspension, some of them are maxed out, so check to see what range works best (I think the default is a bit heavily sprung and may be too low).
Does your car have a limited slip diff? I did not add one. It doesn't seem to need one at that power level.
These are the gears that are in the car (other version have other gears so I am not sure what is stock):
GEAR_1=3.368
GEAR_2=2.159
GEAR_3=1.579
GEAR_4=1.24
GEAR_5=0.97
FINAL=3.00
The color looks bad in the preview, but seems close in the game (it can actually be adjusted in CM). Check out the license plate BTW.
Haven't had a chance to try the updated 02 model in the game, but I can mention a couple things. First, my car is a four-speed. Here are the ratios:
1st - 3.764:1
2nd - 2.02:1
3rd - 1.32:1
4th - 1:1
Reverse - 4.153:1
I can't remember the final drive off the top of my head, but I think it's a 3.64 (3.90 was in the automatic IIRC), and probably an open diff (I've changed so many parts on this car over so many years I can't keep track). Once I have a chance to drive it I'll let you know how it feels. Thanks again.
Version 2 is up there. I changed the gear ratios. I also swapped the suspension base setting for a (I think) stock 2002. Seems a lot more reasonable now.
An updated (v2) version of the RX-7 FB is in your folder Dean. I adjusted the power outputs and a potential issue with the weight.
I don't know if this will fix the server issue though. Any tune on the base model creates some sort of issue with the car tuner (not clear on what it is).
Cool, thanks. I will test it tomorrow. I was just messing with the 128i - it feels pretty good, but the acceleration feels a little slow. Nothing major, and it might just be a flawed perception created by the lack of physical feedback. I did notice when I looked in CM that the torque value listed was as 215Nm, when it should be 200ft-lbs (which is 271Nm). I don't know if that's derived from the actual model, or if it's just a statistic associated with it.
I will take a look at it. The CM number is from the info file and is not necessarily the same as the power table (I may not have updated the info). Doing some comparison runs (a rolling 10 to top of 1st gear is probably the best way to be consistent) in the game and the car might be a good way to compare.
I also discovered that if you enter a negative value in the steering rate, the steering is reversed! I have no idea how I managed to do that.
I saw what you were distracted by.... which is in the base game I believe...
Yes, distracted is a good word. The one in the game is the ND1 soft top; I haven't found an ND2 nor an RF, but I also haven't looked very hard. Still fixated on the real thing.
ND2 powertrain adjustments should be trivial I imagine.
I'm down for some more ND races. That, the BRZ and the E30 were so much fun.
Yeah, I was also thinking some spec races might be in order as a celebration.
Got in a few laps with the modified 2002. If anything, it feels a little too fast. Power delivery is good, but I suspect there's a little too much of it; maybe ~140hp would be (disappointingly) closer to what my car actually makes. Also, on semi-slicks, it's hard to gauge the cornering, as I've always run on street tires (195/60-15s or 205/60-13s). But the handling is appropriately predictable and the balance seems close to right (I haven't tweaked the suspension settings yet).
Oh, and I love the license plate.

I was thinking if we can come up with a weird mix of cars that replicate what we own we can do some spec racing. Or we could do a delayed start race and mix things up.

I just got AC installed on my PC last night and I got a wheel over the weekend so I imagine I'll be joining y'all sometime soon if there's room for another.
My cars are a lightly modded 99 Miata and a 12 Prius, so obviously I'll be racing the Toyota with y'all
