Ok I know what cars I will be testing. There is a boatload of these in the game.
Anyone care to give me a step-by-step on how to add tracks for windows10? I tried for a bit earlier today and didn't have and luck. I'm computer dumb, so if it's not super intuitive I likely won't figure it out.
If you are using content manager, drag the file you downloaded over the content manager window and release. Then look for the green downward arrow @ the top right corner of the window. Click that, it will show you content ready to install.
If you aren't using content manager... use it :P
If you aren't using content manager, you need to navigate to the AC content folder. Its fairly straightforward. For a track, just open the 'tracks' folder and unzip whatever file you downloaded to there (each track should have its own folder).
Heres a simple video:
Spool it would be great to race with you again. It has been way to long and Sauce needs someone to keep him honest. He has been whooping up on us lately.
If you want join the discord we have set up and join us this Wednesday with voice chat we can get you all setup very quickly even if you don't join in the on line racing.
I found a M5 pack that I put in the content folder and I was underwhelmed. The problem is I think it is to good of a model as it very accurately represents a street car. The car I remember was more race car in feel. I am going to have to see if there are other variants of the M5 that are better. Maybe a race car version?
I also tried Indy cars at the glen. OMG. The steering is crazy sensitive. Once I got the hang of it it was good fun. We should at least try one race with them. The problem will be that other than an F1 car everything we drive after an Indy car will feel slow.

We had the M5 basically fully modded down to min weight with power adders and race tires. With like 300+kg removed, chassis stiffening, fully tuned suspension, more power, and super sticky tires it was basically a different car. It was amazing, but not something easily replicated in AC.
I could probably take a shot at it. I might need some help with specific mods. Having a race BMW to work with would probably be best... of course then we might just want to use the race BMW.
Oh BTW, I am fully aware what Spools favorite personal car is, there should be a good version of it in the person car folder. I am not sure if SP1 or SP2 though.

I did download the content manager, but have so far only got NCM to load to the game. The tracks appear to be in the correct folder, but they don't show up on the game. I'll try the drag/drop to the CM when I get home today.
I'm looking forward to turning some laps again. Life has been overwhelming busy since I moved, and I really miss doing some online racing. Especially with you guys.
EDIT: I already have discord, can one of you guys send me an invite? I'm Spoolpigeon on there also.

Whats the "tag" after your name? It should be Spoolpigeon#1234 or something like that.
Mine is ProDarwin#1538. If you msg me there I will add you to the forum and change your role.
Since the ps4 support has been dwindling I took the plunge and now I have a PC with AC installed. Do I need to get the content manager and some DLC to get in on the action? What first steps would y'all recommend?
I was speedy_sloth1 in the PC2 Wednesday night league on ps4. On AC my username is drillin_mcmillin

See the first 2 posts in this thread, but here are the cliffs notes
1) Get AC Ultimate edition (has all the DLC)
2) Get content manager & a link to the google drive we use. All the content for weekly races is shared there in one convenient spot
3) Get discord and join up. I have been helping most people get on discord, but in theory anyone in this thread can help you.

It is a divide and conquers thing I think. Air has been doing the cars and admins the content folder. I do server things and you have become the discord and generally getting people up and running expert.
Since Spool will be arriving soon:
Does anyone know what happens (with penalties off of course) what happens when you enter the pits backwards? (as in driving forward)... just asking...
I also have something else I need to look into, for nostalgia sake.
(edit): OK, I checked, going into the pits backwards without penalties just reduces you to pit speed and makes you run through the pits... which could work...

I got the ultimate edition, content manager, and created a discord account.
This is the google drive URL from page 1: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vME9C0pSEoHrops3ol6xEer_0FAp-C54
Is that still the correct google drive link? And how do I get on the correct discord channel?
Send me a friend request on discord and I will invite you to the channel. My info is above in the page or in the second post.
If you've sent me a request and I dont notice, feel free to post something here. Sometimes discord fails at push notifications.
barrowcadbury is in
drillin_mcmillin you have an invite. Let me know when you've accepted and I will update your role
Spool you have a freind request
So what is up for tonight? Any suggestions? You all know what happens if Air is allowed to choose. :-)
I do have two cars (spec series) that we can test if we want to jump into one of those. One that gets very good reviews online (I also have a very appropriate new track for those), another that I find very fun to drive...
... and no, not forklifts.... (bucket lifts are not considered forklifts, right? )
Have we raced the X1/9's? Those seem like fun also. I don't see any stock X1/9 models available, which is unfortunate.
BTW - I have "prizes" I can give out. I am a bit late this time because of my time off and they will be active next week. I am assuming Dean wants one, ProDarwin certainly deserves one for his Discord work (if he wants one), and I have three more if anyone wants one. We can race for them if needed.
("prize" is %25 off every product for one purchase at a rather popular store. We can discuss tonight)
You'll need to log in to post.
