So, if you haven't downloaded the new GT6 update, its sort of like a "Gran Turismofied" version of the old stand up "Outrun game". On his first try, he posted a score of 819,687. Finished the course. I, unfortunately, have come nowhere near that (say, roughly, 1/4 that score). So, once again
If you are on the GRM PS3 "Friends list" your score should populate automatically, otherwise screenshots for authentication.
Of course, Spoon has already laid the smackdown on EVERYONE, so, in all likelihood, you're fighting for second. The good news is, its a hoot.
It is pretty fun! The only complaint I have is that the AI cars are terribly dumb on this one. Randomly braking and changing lines.
I just tried this and really enjoyed it. My only complaint is the same as Spool's, I had my streak broken twice due to cars arbitrarily changing lanes while I was next to them. I look forward to messing with it some more when I get a chance, maybe close the gap on Spool some if I can.
We both noticed the random stupidity too. On the other hand, if you can get set up either outside or inside, you can pass pretty easily during the "Random mid-corner AI brake check".
My son was beefing with the game because he got a totally phantom collision that ruined a clean pass streak. The car he allegedly "collided" with was already in the rear-view about 30 feet back when he got penalized.
I do like that it rewards you for clean driving. But it still reminds me of:
I just did one try on each one, but I think the key will be keeping your pass streak alive vs a super fast lap. Thinking out your passes before they happen and giving yourself room from the AI lines should bet some killer points.
I had a similar after pass contact in the last sector no less.
Still net the gold but wanted to get the bonus points too. I may try to go back another day and try to get a perfect clean run in each car.
Lots of fun for a change from just pounding out laps. However there were frustating moments such as once hit a phantom wall on a bridge and another time had the AI try to out brake me and took us both off into the cliff face.
If the AI would follow a somewhat normal racing line it wouldn't be that hard to stay clean, but sometimes they go for the apex, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they track out, sometimes they don't. They also slow down so much that, at least in the Fiat, waiting to see what they do kills all your speed and momentum and it takes forever to get going again.
Complaining aside, I really enjoy playing it. I've only done a couple laps but it's a lot of fun.
First attempt: 1,151,390 with the Fiat, Totally can do a LOT better than that knowing what/how the penalties work.
Graphics seem crappy in this scenario, but who cares. :D
Had a LOT of fun playing the quick match on high speed ring last night; no one could keep up with the ZR-1 I was piloting (~3:28 total times, and everyone else was in the mid ~3:30's) People get ugly fast though when you're beating them; lots of "rubbin' is racin' type of crap going on"
New score is up for the fiat one

I just started my ps3 up for the first time in forever- 4 hours in and its still updating... major operating system update and multiple gt6 updates. I gave up before i even made it to the game
I had some insomnia the other night, so I fired up the game and set out to make a good score on the other 2 Sierra rallies. Nailed the VW one clean on the first try and moved on to the Ferrari one. I spent about almost 2 hours trying to get a clean run before seeing the red mist and quitting. The car is fun to drive but the IA is sooooooo bad it's frustrating. Maybe it's because the speeds are much higher in that car, but it seems the slightest little tap registers as a collision.

And have you since added the music from Outrun onto your GT6 Racing BGM Playlist?
My current high score with the Fiat 500 '09 is 1,911,802. Meanwhile, someone on my friends list has almost 2.5 million as their High Score.
hoping to get my ps3 updated next weekend so i can give this a shot, i am pretty excited for some of the new features in gt6.
